Awarding and Disbursement
Tuition Deferment
- Financial aid acceptance may place a temporary tuition and fee deferment based on anticipated aid.
- The deferment will expire – not cancel – several weeks into the term, and a late fee may apply if aid has not been disbursed.
- Federal Work-Study cannot be used for deferment.
- Students must monitor their myWings and pay any balance by the posted deadline.
Bookstore Authorizations
- Students with financial aid exceeding their tuition and allowable charges may receive a refund.
- Eligible students may use part of an anticipated refund (up to $600 per term) at the UNF Bookstore before disbursement.
- A bookstore authorization is part of a student’s total financial aid package – not additional funding – and may change due to enrollment or fee adjustments.
- Authorizations are available for a limited time, usually through the add/drop period, with notifications sent via the student’s UNF email.
Financial Aid Disbursement
- Financial aid typically disburses about three weeks after the term begins and continues throughout the term as eligibility requirements are met.
- After add/drop, aid may be reduced or canceled due to eligibility or outstanding requirements.
- Funds are applied to tuition and fees first, with any remaining balance issued as a refund.
- Enrollment changes, including withdrawals, transient or split-term enrollment (e.g., summer sessions) may delay or affect disbursements.
