Accreditation
UNF holds both institutional and programmatic accreditation. Institutional accreditation evaluates the university's overall quality and compliance, while programmatic accreditation focuses on the standards of specific degree programs, often tied to professional fields.
Institutional Accreditation
The University of North Florida is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award baccalaureate, masters, and doctorate degrees. The University of North Florida also may offer credentials such as certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels. Programmatic Accreditation
In addition to maintaining institutional accreditation, UNF expects programmatic accreditation to be pursued and maintained when appropriate. Programmatic accreditation ensures that academic programs meet rigorous national standards aligned with the University’s mission of transformational education and student success. These accreditations affirm the quality, coherence, and relevance of curricula, support student preparation for professional careers, and advance UNF’s commitment to community engagement and economic prosperity in Northeast Florida. Wherever national programmatic accreditation is available, UNF offers programs that have attained, are seeking, or are preparing to seek such accreditation as resources permit. Professional Licensure Programs
Certain UNF academic programs are designed to prepare students to meet the educational requirements for professional licensure or certification in the state of Florida. Licensure requirements may vary by state; therefore, students are responsible for understanding the requirements of the state in which they plan to seek employment.
