Department of Physical Therapy

The Department of Physical Therapy offers the following degree: Doctor of Physical Therapy. Physical Therapists are health professionals who work with individuals of all ages and abilities to prevent or recover from injuries, and chronic conditions. Physical therapists are movement experts who apply their knowledge in providing a wide array of treatments that include hands on care, exercise prescription and education. Physical therapists are guided by the American Physical Therapy Association vision: Transforming society by optimizing movement to improve the human experience. The DPT Program at UNF provides graduates with the knowledge and skills to become practitioners of the highest caliber who are qualified to work in any setting. UNF's DPT Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE). After graduating from the accredited DPT program at UNF, students are qualified to take the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE). Upon passing the NPTE, they must apply for licensure in the state in which they plan to work. View the admission and degree requirements.
