Residency

Tuition and fees are assessed on the basis of residency. Enrolling students are classified either as "Florida" or "Non-Florida" students.

The University of North Florida follows the laws of the State of Florida and regulations and policy guidelines established by the Florida Board of Governors in determining residency for tuition purposes. The law allows U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents to be classified as Florida residents for tuition purposes if the applicant or the dependent applicant's parent/legal guardian has been a legal resident of the state for at least 12 months preceding the first day of classes of the term for which Florida residency is sought.

Proper documentation is required before students are classified as Florida residents for tuition purposes.

For more information on residency requirements, visit the Residency Processing Office at UNF.
