International Business: UNF to Hertfordshire

The Osprey Map provides a term-by-term sample schedule for each undergraduate academic program at the University of North Florida. It is designed to guide students in the selection of courses each term. The "Mile Marker" courses are those courses that should be completed before or by the end of that term. Following the sample schedule, and completing the mile marker courses at the appropriate point of your undergraduate career, will facilitate graduation in four years. The term-by-term model assumes full-time enrollment. For students enrolled part-time, the sample schedule and mile markers should be followed based on the number of credits completed. The Osprey Map should be used in consultation with an academic advisor.

The UNF to Hertfordshire double degree is an exciting opportunity to combine a love of culture with an interest in international business. This undergraduate double degree program is designed for University of Hertfordshire (UH) and UNF Coggin College of Business students to earn two bachelor degrees while taking business and language courses in the US and in England. Students spend two years at UNF and two years at University of Hertfordshire, including a four-month internship in England. In order to earn the UH portion of the double degree, additional requirements must be met. These requirements include the following:

  • completing additional coursework at Hertfordshire (England)
  • maintaining a minimum UNF GPA of 2.7 prior to studying at Hertfordshire
  • fulfilling the internship experience in England.
All UNF requirements for study abroad must be completed prior to studying at Hertfordshire (Term 5). Procurement of appropriate travel documents and logistical arrangements is the responsibility of the student. Visit the Hertfordshire/UNF webpage for a program overview.

Students should refer to their personalized Degree Evaluation provided by an academic advisor and to other university resources for additional university and college-specific policies. Visit the undergraduate university catalog for more information.
  • Visit the university catalog for a list of General Education requirements. An Associate in Arts (AA) degree from a Florida public university, state college or community college satisfies UNF general education and Gordon Rule requirements. Math selection is contingent upon math predictive analysis score, the student's major and/or credit received through accelerated mechanisms (Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, Dual Enrollment, etc).
  • ENC3202 Professional Communication for Business is a required course. ENC3202 Professional Communication for Business also satisfies General Education English and Gordon Rule Writing at UNF.
  • Civic Literacy Requirement: Prior to graduation from a Florida state university, students must demonstrate competency in civic literacy through successful completion of a civic literacy course (AMH 2010, AMH 2020, or POS 2041) and by achieving a passing score on an assessment. Consult an academic advisor, the university catalog and visit the Civic Literacy webpage for additional information.
  • Students must earn a minimum of 54 upper level (3000/4000) hours and 120 total semester hours for graduation.
  • Students must complete an application for MAN 4720 Strategic Management Business Policy (Term 8) and adhere to an application deadline the semester prior to course registration. Review the Business Policy Application Materials and consult an academic advisor in the Coggin Academic Advising Office. Students must have a minimum, cumulative and upper-level GPA of 2.0 prior to registering for MAN 4720. MAN 4720 may only be taken in the final term of enrollment.
  • For Term 5 - Term 8 view the program website's UNF Student Curriculum tab and scroll down to the Course Equivalency Table to review Herfordshire course titles and how they transfer back to UNF. Students do not have to follow the exact sequence below; students will work with their Hertfordshire advisor to create their course schedules each semester based on Hertfordshire's course offerings.
  • Visit the STAR webpage to complete the Professional Brand Certificate and the Career Services Center webpage for employment information.
