Osprey Ridge

Opening in Fall 2025, our brand-new residence hall located on Osprey Ridge Road across from Osprey Fountains is the perfect home for the Hicks Honors College community. This modern, four-story building spans over 165,000 square feet and offers comfortable housing for 520 students. Designed specifically for both first-year and upper-class Honors students, our new residence hall will not only be the home for our Honors community, but also a place where any student can make their home!

Our residence hall is more than just a place to live—it's a vibrant academic and social community. With a focus on intellectual and personal growth, you'll find creative leadership opportunities, social events and dedicated spaces for studying and collaboration.

You'll love our single and double occupancy rooms, each featuring shared bathrooms among roommates. Rent is billed per semester, making it easy to manage your finances and covers all essentials: electricity, water, air conditioning and high-speed wireless internet.

Every room comes with moveable hardwood furniture, including a twin extra-long bed, desk, chair, dresser and ample closet space. Plus, enjoy convenient access to a shuttle stop, Skinner-Jones Hall, Biological Sciences and Engineering buildings via a new boardwalk connecting the residence hall to UNF drive. Get ready to enjoy a supportive and engaging living environment that truly feels like home!

The main entrance and lobby is home to:

  • One (1) multipurpose room for events
  • One (1) community laundry room
  • One (1) community mail and package pick-up room
  • Office suite for Housing and Residence Life and Honors staff

Each residential floor has the following:

  • Centrally located community
    lounge space and kitchen close
    to resident rooms (8 total lounges
    and kitchens)
  • Two (2) study spaces on each floor close to resident rooms (8 total lounges and kitchens)
  • Centralized elevators and stairwell for easy resident access to all floors

Outdoor amenities include:

  • parking, 
  • sand volleyball court, 
  • pickleball courts
  • a walkway bridge to UNF drive in close proximity to an Osprey Connector Shuttle stop.

Moveable hardwood furniture:

  • Procedures and Standards

    During ALL Fire Alarms, all students and guests MUST leave the building immediately. Students are not to re-enter the building until instructed to do so by Housing and Residence Life staff or the University Police Department. Students and guests refusing to vacate or returning before they are told to do so by a University Official are subject to disciplinary action and/or a fine from the police.

    Osprey Ridge Residents should evacuate towards the front of the building to the parking lot (past the first row of cars) or to the back of the building in the grass past the maintenance drive.

    cleaning proceduresCleaning Standards

    Residents are to have their rooms thoroughly cleaned in accordance with the established cleaning standards. If a room is not cleaned to the outlined standards, all residents of the room may be held equally responsible for the charges associated with the extra cleaning. Failure to thoroughly clean the room to the specified standards will result in a minimum of $50 cleaning fee for each area (i.e. living area, bath area).

    Clean all common areas of your room. These areas must be cleaned by the time the FIRST resident in your room checks-out. These areas must remain clean throughout the check-out period. Otherwise, your check-out may be delayed and/or result in cleaning charges.

    • Vacuum/Sweep: The floor in the room must be thoroughly vacuumed or swept.
    • Bathroom Area: The bathtub must be clean, with all mold, mildew and hard water or soap scum stains removed. The tile walls are to be cleaned completely free of mildew, soap scum, and stains. The tiles are to be shiny with no residue remaining. The outer surface of the toilet bowl is to be cleaned, and the inside of the bowl is to be free from stains. The bathroom floor and baseboards are to be mopped and cleaned. The sink and counter of the vanity area are to be cleaned, with all hair, soap scum and stains removed. The mirror is to be cleaned with glass cleaner and is not to be cloudy. The interior and exterior of any medicine cabinets are to be cleaned.
    • Cleaning of Housing Furnishings: The interior and exterior of the desk, dresser, chairs and bed frame are to be cleaned and wiped dry so that dirt and dust are removed.
    • Cleaning of Walls, Window, and Door Surfaces: The baseboards in the room are to be wiped down. Walls are to be cleaned as to remove any tape, dirt, or marks. Spider webs are to be removed from ceiling areas. Room blinds, windows, and windowsills are to be cleaned. Both sides of the room door must be cleaned of all tape residue marks.
    • Removal of Trash and Garbage: All trash, personal belongings and garbage must be removed from the room.

    Becki is a returning Osprey! Becki earned her Bachelor's of Arts in Sociology from Western Illinois University, and her Master's of Science in Higher Education Administration with a concentration in Student Affairs right here at UNF. After earning her Master's degree, Becki served as a Hall Coordinator at the University of New Mexico and a Residence Life Coordinator at the University of West Florida. In her free time, Becki enjoys yoga, watching hockey, baking and collecting vinyl records.

    Michael was raised in Toms River, New Jersey, and moved to Ponce Inlet, Florida in 2023. He graduated from Jacksonville University in just three years with a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences and a minor in Business Administration. During his time at JU, he was actively involved in campus life, serving as a Resident Assistant for two years, taking on student leadership roles, and helping to found the Alpha Eta chapter of the Brooks College of Health Sciences. He is currently pursuing a Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) at the University of North Florida. Michael is passionate about improving healthcare systems and administrative processes. A seasoned traveler, he has visited 22 countries, including Monaco, Greece, and Poland. Outside of academics, he enjoys event planning, playing volleyball, and giving back to his community through mentorship and service. This year, Michael will be serving in a joint role as an Assistant Residential Life Coordinator at Osprey Ridge, while also supporting our conduct and care initiatives.
