All mail resident mail is identified, sorted and placed in the appropriate resident's Housing Box. Every effort is made to efficiently delivery mail to all residents as quickly as possible. Please note: While a mail carrier may guarantee overnight delivery or next day delivery or delivery by a specific date, Housing and Residence Life only delivers mail to resident Housing Boxes each Monday - Friday that the University is open.

At the conclusion of each student's housing contract they must arrange to have all personal mail sent directly to their off campus address/point of contact. This includes, but is not limited to: notifying family, friends, financial institutions; including banks and credit card companies, phone companies and magazine/periodical publishers of their new off campus address.

The Department of Housing and Residence Life will only deliver mail to those students who have a current Housing Contract and/or Intersession Housing Agreement. At the conclusion of each semester all unclaimed first-class mail for individuals not living on-campus for up-coming semester will be stamped “Return to Sender” (return service for first-class mail only). Please note that non-first class mail cannot be returned to sender and will be discarded. Housing and Residence Life will not hold or forward any unclaimed mail.

Residents are required to check their Housing Box and UNF e-mail at least one time per week for formal communication from the UNF community. Tampering with Housing Box locks or removing mail addressed to another person is prohibited. Mail addressed to anyone other than the current occupant of the box should be returned to the mailroom. Only authorized personnel are permitted to enter the mailroom sorting and distribution area. Acceptance of mail can be restricted if deemed necessary by Housing and Residence Life staff.

If a Housing Box is full to the point that no more mail can be placed in the box an e-mail notification will be sent to the resident instructing them to clear out their Housing Box. Any incoming mail will be stamped "Return to Sender" (return service for first-class mail only) until the Housing Box is cleared.
