How to Complete a Housing Contract

Not sure where to start with your housing contract? This quick video will walk you through it!

Follow the steps below:

The process to ultimately receive a bed assignment is a multiple step process and requires students to take specific required actions. Follow the steps below:

STEP 1 (Required):

Fully submit the Academic Year 2026 - 2027 Housing Contract in myHousing.

Students submitting their first housing contract will be required to submit a one-time non-refundable $100.00 processing fee to fully submit their housing contract.

The earlier all required steps are completed in the myHousing portal, the higher your priority during the online room selection process. Submitting your contract early gives you a better chance of choosing your preferred space.

STEP 2 (Optional):

Complete the Living-Learning/Theme Community application.

Please note: Once a student fully completes the Housing Contract, including payment of the $100.00 processing fee (if applicable), the student can instantly submit a Living-Learning/Theme Community application.

For information on communities please visit our Living-Learning and Theme Community webpage!

STEP 3 (Required):

Fully participate in the scheduled on-line room selection process to select bed space.

To choose your preferred bedspace, fully participate in the scheduled online room selection process. If you miss your ticket window, your chance of selecting your preferred bedspace is lessened. Please note that simply not participating does not release you from the terms and conditions of your signed housing contract.

On-line Room Selection Process for First-year students: June 2026
More details will be released May 2026

Preparing for Room Selection

Between now and May 1, 2026, first-year students with a completed housing contract will need to ensure they have read and completed the following, as applicable:

  1. Ensure ALL room and roommate preferences within myHousing are up to date.
  2. Search AND mutually accept your desired roommate(s) in myHousing. Please note the following:
    1. Both you AND your desired roommate(s) must be in the same Roommate Group to be considered as a mutual request.
    2. It is important to be pro-active in accepting or declining roommates within myHousing to prevent any issues during the Room Selection process.
    3. Some rooms/apartments/suites and/or individual bed spaces may not be available for assignment during the room selection process due to Living-Learning Communities, Theme Housing, ADA needs, etc. Housing and Residence Life will communicate directly with students impacted by their space being unavailable prior to the online room selection process.
  3. If you are seeking a medical or disability accommodation, please contact the UNF Student Accessibility Center.
