Welcome to the Coggin Delegation

Who is the Coggin Delegation?

  • UNF domestic students,
  • Incoming exchange students to the Coggin College of Business from all over the world, and
  • International Business advisory staff

What is the Coggin Delegation?

The Coggin Delegation is an international group that brings together domestic and exchange students to enhance cultural learning while at UNF.  Offered through the International Business Flagship Program, the Coggin Delegation gives UNF students and international exchange students the opportunity to share experiences, practice language skills, and expand their networks across countries.

UNF domestic student members are able to

  • welcome the international exchange students to UNF and help them adapt to American - and Jacksonville - culture,
  • meet students from the country where they plan to study abroad and learn about their host culture before arrival,
  • gain competencies they might not otherwise experience if they are not able to study abroad, such as cross-cultural communication skills, language conversation skills, an intercultural worldview, and empathy.

What does the Coggin Delegation do?

The student leaders of the group plan events, so each semester is unique.  Past events have included a day at the Osprey Challenge Course and Zip Line, a trip to St. Augustine's Night of Lights, attending a UNF Homecoming basketball game, going to on-campus lectures and Coggin club meetings, pickup soccer games, picnics at the beach, and more.

UNF students who are part of the Coggin Delegation are expected to complete the following, at minimum:

  • contact their international buddy prior to the buddy's arrival at UNF;
  • attend at least three Coggin Delegation events during the semester with their buddy:
    • incoming exchange student orientation, typically the Saturday before classes begin,
    • the end-of-semester celebration, and
    • at least one other event organized by the Coggin Delegation;
  • participate in at least one study abroad outreach event during the semester.

How do I become part of the Coggin Delegation?

Coggin's international exchange students are automatically enrolled in the program!  UNF students must fill out a simple application and complete a selection interview.  Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, so apply today!
