Business Advisory Council

Our Advisory Council is a link to the professional community and industry practices for our department. They provide input on relevance of the overall program of study and specific aspects of the curriculum in today's business landscape.

They assist us in identifying specific competencies and skills students should possess to make the program more competitive and generate a better product. And they help assess the college's competitive environment by advising on strategies to not only recruit students to the major, but also to hire the faculty.

 Deepak Arora is Vice President, Alaska Distribution, Energy Division at Crowley, privately held, U.S.-owned maritime, logistics, and energy company founded in 1892 and headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida. In this role, he leads Crowley’s Alaska Fuels business and global energy tank farm operations, with responsibility for safety, operations, commercial performance, supply reliability, and P&L execution across mission-critical energy distribution and infrastructure networks.

Deepak brings more than 25 years of global experience across maritime, logistics, energy, strategy, finance, transformation, and business operations. Since joining Crowley in 2020, he has held senior leadership roles including Chief Strategy Officer, where he led enterprise strategy, growth, transformation, capital allocation, innovation, and complex business initiatives across Crowley’s portfolio. Earlier in his career, he held leadership roles in global logistics and maritime companies and captained merchant vessels for the Wilh. Wilhelmsen maritime group.

Deepak received his MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and serves as a member of the MIT Sloan Industry Advisors. Through the University of North Florida’s Business Advisory Council, Deepak is pleased to support UNF’s connection with the business community and contribute practical industry perspective on strategy, operations excellence, and sustainable growth.

Serving as The Energy Authority’s Chief People Officer, Susan Boggs ensures the organization is prepared for the future by building a strong team of individuals who are engaged and ready to lead. This includes tailoring a continuously evolving talent strategy, building an effective people operations team, and ensuring the organization’s culture supports its growing, collaborative, and innovative workforce today and into the future.

In addition to her current role in the energy industry, Susan’s diverse background includes experience in other industries such as software development, manufacturing, and heavy equipment, as well as a previous career in music education.  Each role provided her unique insights into the practice and importance of empowering people to elevate their skills and achieve their goals.
Susan’s community engagement also reflects her values of developing and positioning people for success in their professional lives. She served as a founding board member of the Jacksonville Women’s Leadership Forum, an organization that supports professional women in local businesses, and she currently serves on the Business Advisory Council of the Coggin College of Business at the University of North Florida, using her expertise to bridge the gap between the classroom and the business community.
Susan holds an MBA from the University of North Florida and a bachelor's degree in Music Education from Florida State University. She is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).

 Don Hune serves as President of Lift Power, where he provides strategic leadership and oversees thecompany’s growth, operational performance, and long-term vision. Under his leadership, Lift Power hassuccessfully expanded into new geographic markets and enhanced its service offerings through thedevelopment of several key business divisions. Throughout his career, Don has also been actively involved inlaunching, growing, and supporting a number of startup ventures.

Known for his ability to build high-performing teams, Don fosters a culture centered on excellence,accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement. His leadership has been instrumental in drivingsustainable growth while maintaining a steadfast commitment to customer satisfaction, operationalexcellence, and industry-leading service.

Don earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of North Florida and currently serves on theAdvisory Council for the University of North Florida’s Coggin College of Business. He is passionate aboutgiving back to the community and actively supports numerous charitable organizations, including local foodbanks and pantries, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and a variety of nonprofit initiatives dedicated toimproving the lives of others.

Outside of his professional responsibilities, Don enjoys spending time with his family and embracing theoutdoor lifestyle that makes North Florida a unique place to live and work.

 Julie is the Office Managing Partner of Grant Thornton’s Jacksonville office and has over 30 years of experience in public accounting, primarily within the audit practice. In addition to her leadership roles as Office Managing Partner and Audit Partner, Julie has served globally as an audit coach for Norway and Greece. She also serves as the Southeast Transportation Leader.

 Dr. Anna Lebesch is a recognized leader in education, workforce development and regional economic strategy, bringing more than 20 years of experience shaping pathways for students and professionals across Northeast Florida. She has played a pivotal role in creating more than 60 educational programs that align with local workforce needs, forging strong partnerships with businesses, colleges, universities and regional school districts to ensure the region’s talent pipeline remains competitive now and in the future.

As Senior Vice President of Talent, Strategy & Marketing at JAXUSA Partnership, Anna drives initiatives that connect talent, education and industry, strengthening the Jacksonville region’s economic vitality while creating pathways for upward mobility and opportunity. Her strategic insight and collaborative approach have helped attract new businesses, expand the region’s target industries and position Northeast Florida as a destination for top talent.

With a bold vision for growth and opportunity, Anna is helping shape Jacksonville into a region where talent thrives and industries flourish.

Outside of her professional work, Anna enjoys exploring her home community of Fleming Island and champions her children as they pursue their dreams: her daughter completing a doctorate in occupational therapy and her son training to become a Navy pilot.

Michael J. Mas, has been our Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer since August 2019. Prior to that, Mr. Mas had served as Managing Director of Finance since February 2017. He served as Senior Vice President of Capital Markets from January 2013 to January 2017. Prior to that, Mr. Mas served as Vice President of Capital Markets and JV Portfolio Management from December 2004 to December 2012. Before joining our Company in 2003, he worked with Deloitte & Touche LLP as Manager for Assurance and Advisory services, supervising professional accountants providing client services in Southeast Florida. Mr. Mas holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of North Florida and a M.B.A. from Florida Atlantic University. He is a member of ICSC and Nareit.

 Mr. Patra first joined EverBank in 2012 and has over 16 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining EverBank in 2012, Mr. Patra worked for Bank of America in Charlotte, NC, holding various positions in the fields of model validation, stress testing, economic research and portfolio analytics. Between 2012 and 2016 at EverBank, he developed the model development and financial risk teams that formed the Balance Sheet Risk Management function. Between 2016 and 2018, Mr. Patra worked for Goldman Sachs in New York, NY, where he was responsible for the development of the Interest Rate Risk (IRR) framework. Subsequent to the build-out of the framework, he managed the global derivatives liquidity risk modeling function and was also a member of FTP team.

In 2018, Mr. Patra returned to EverBank to lead the Bankwide Analytics function, and in 2019, Mr. Patra was named Bank Treasurer. As Treasurer, Mr. Patra has oversight over funding management, balance sheet management, IRR management, liquidity risk management, investment portfolio management and stress testing.

Mr. Patra received his master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Pune, India.

 Joe Forkum is Vice President of Sales and Marketing Bulk Products. His responsibilities span across the company's Fertilizers, Minerals, Agriculture and Food products, as well as various domestic coal sectors including utility, steel and industrial segments. Forkum also oversees the export coal segments and leads the company’s coal development initiatives.

Prior to his current role, Forkum served as Vice President of Coal Sales and Marketing from April 2023 to December 2025, with oversight of domestic and export coal sales and coal business development.

Previously, Forkum served as the Head of Merchandise Sales. In this capacity, he successfully led sales efforts across multiple business segments at CSX, including Agricultural and Food Products, Chemicals, Fertilizers, Forest products, Metals and Minerals.

Forkum has served with CSX for more than 20 years. He joined the company as a member of the Finance team in 2000 and later moved into Sales and Marketing, where he took on roles of increasing responsibility on the Coal team. He was named Senior Director of Merchandise Sales in 2021 before being promoted to Head of Merchandise Sales in January 2022.

Forkum holds a bachelor's degree in International Finance from the University of North Florida and a master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Florida.

 Wyman Winbush II, CAPT USNR-R, MBA, widely known as “The Wisdom Broker,” is a nationally respected speaker, trainer, coach, and leadership consultant with more than three decades of experience spanning military service, corporate leadership, and community ministry. A graduate of the United States Naval Academy and retired Navy Captain with 30 years of service, Wyman combines operational leadership experience with a 31-year career at IBM, where he served in multiple sales and leadership roles.

As CEO of WRW International, LLC, he specializes in helping leaders and organizations develop high-performance cultures, resilience, adaptability, and strategic leadership mindsets. Known for his engaging, practical, and inspirational communication style, Wyman brings a unique ability to connect military principles, business strategy, and personal growth into actionable insights that resonate with diverse audiences.

 Greg Motto serves as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Assistant Treasurer for NASCAR overseeing capital allocation, shareholder relations and financial planning, ensuring long-term financial stability and strength for the Company, providing capital availability and prudent strategic reinvestment for the Company’s existing and new developments. Motto also leads the Company’s compliance over financial reporting, internal controls, tax, accounting and integrated financial planning.

Prior to this, Motto served as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer for International Speedway Corporation (ISC), where he led all finance, investor relations, integrated financial planning and accounting for ISC, as well as all financial matters related to the merger with NASCAR in 2019.
Motto joined ISC in 2000, and served in positions as Financial Analyst, Assistant Controller, Director of Strategic Planning and Controller. Prior to joining ISC, Motto was with GE Capital, where he completed with honors, the GE Financial Management Program, while serving as Financial Analyst responsible for financial planning and analysis and strategic planning.
Motto earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of North Florida. He is a Certified Management Accountant and Certified in Strategy and Competitive Analysis and a member of the Institute of Management Accountants.
Motto serves on the Audit, Finance and Investment committees at Halifax Health. He also serves on the Business Advisory Council at University of North Florida Coggin College of Business and as an Elder and Board member at Salty Church in Ormond Beach. Motto previously served as Board and Finance Committee member at United Way Community Foundation of Volusia/Flagler Counties.
Motto resides in Ormond Beach with his wife and two children. He enjoys surfing, riding motocross and boating/fishing with his family and friends.

 Alex Kellison is the president of Heritage Capital Group, a leading investment banking firm based in Jacksonville, Florida. His primary focus is on mergers and acquisitions, capital raising and formation, and strategic consulting and advisory for both domestic and international clients. Alex has over 15 years of professional experience in corporate finance and accounting roles including investment banking, asset management, and audit.

Prior to joining Heritage, Alex was a Portfolio Manager at Morgan Stanley in Jacksonville, Florida, where he managed fixed income, equity, and alternative investment portfolios for institutional investors and high net worth individuals focusing on managing returns and risks for his clients.
He serves on the boards of KIPP Jacksonville as well as the Melanin Collaborative Group.
Alex has lived in Northeast Florida for over twenty years and currently resides in Eagle Landing at Oakleaf Plantation with his wife, Erana, and two daughters, Shoshana and Gianna. He enjoys playing golf and soccer, traveling, cooking, and spending time with friends and family.
Alex is a member of the CFA Society of Jacksonville and holds the FINRA Series 7, Series 24, and Series 66 licenses. He received his M.B.A. with a concentration in finance & accounting from Jacksonville University and his B.B.A in finance from the University of North Florida.

Mr. Nelson brings over 20 years of leadership experience primarily within the rail and environmental services industries, focusing on financial planning and analysis, budgeting, strategic planning, investor relations, debt and equity financing, mergers and acquisitions, and financial reporting.

Prior to arriving at Patriot in 2020, Nelson served as Vice President of Finance and Investor Relations at Advanced Disposal Services from 2015-2020.  During this time, he helped oversee an initial public offering and multiple follow-on equity offerings, which raised approximately $2 billion.  He also led a restructuring of the company’s debt and oversaw strategic planning.  Prior to Advanced Disposal, he spent ten years at CSX in progressive leadership roles in its accounting, external reporting, financial planning, and treasury groups.  He began his career in public accounting at KPMG in 2003.

Mr. Nelson received a Master of Business Administration from the University of Florida and Bachelor of Business Administration degrees in both accounting and economics at the University of North Florida. He was also a member of the cross-country and track teams at UNF.  He is a Certified Public Accountant, Chartered Financial Analyst Charterholder, and Certified Treasury Professional.

In this role, Dikter sets the strategy and vision and provides executive and strategic leadership for the GuideWell Source Family of Companies. He has accountability for overall operational and financial results. Dikter is a member of the board of directors of GuideWell Source, and also serves as a member of the board of directors of the Florida Health political action committee (PAC). In addition, Dikter serves as a member on a number of enterprise committees and advisory boards. Dikter holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Bryant University, a Juris Doctorate degree from Widener University School of Law, and a Master of Laws in taxation from New York University School of Law.

He holds degrees from MNIT Jaipur, the Indian School of Business (ISB) Hyderabad, and the National Law School of India University, Bangalore, and is a Chevening Research, Science, and Innovation Leadership Fellow, Oxford University. Nrupal has received multiple national and international awards for entrepreneurship and innovation.

In addition to his work in fintech, he is an active writer and thought leader focused on payments, business strategy, and product innovation. He also the founding member of the AI Advisory board of The Culverhouse college of Business, The university of Alabama.

Nrupal is honored to serve on the UNF Coggin College of Business Advisory Council and contribute insights on technology, innovation, and the future of financial services.

 Matt VanderLinde serves as Chief Operating Officer, Supply Chain Solutions at NXTPoint Logistics, where he leads the company’s 3PL and freight brokerage business. With more than 25 years of experience in the logistics and supply chain industry, Matt is responsible for advancing strategic priorities, expanding service offerings, and driving organizational evolution to meet the changing needs of customers. Recently NXTPoint has expanded its freight brokerage, installation, and procurement services under Matt’s direction.

Prior to joining NXTPoint, Matt was Senior Vice President at Atlas Logistics, where he held multiple senior leadership roles, including leading the company’s launch in 2012. He played a key role in shaping the organization’s strategic direction, driving revenue diversification, expanding service capabilities, and executing acquisitions. Matt also led the integration of multiple subsidiaries, improving operational efficiency and scalability.

Earlier in his career, Matt held several leadership positions at The Suddath Companies, including Vice President of Business Development for Suddath Transportation Services (STS) and Vice President of Corporate Sales for Van Line. In these roles, he drove business growth, strengthened client relationships, and expanded market presence.

Matt holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Towson University.
