Alicante, Spain

Swoop! across the Atlantic to Alicante, Spain. On the Mediterranean coast, south of Valencia, lies the city of Alicante, a modern and fast-moving city with beautiful beaches. It is easy to understand why 290,000 people call Alicante home. Alicante's airport has direct flights to major European cities including Berlin, London, Copenhagen and Amsterdam. Numerous buses and trains provide easy travel within the region, country, and Europe. Home to year-round cultural activities, city parks and gardens, sports events, shopping and notable local cuisines, Alicante is a wonderful location to study abroad. Universidad de Alicante (UA) is recognized as one of Spain's most modern and innovative universities, as well as one of the most beautiful campuses in Europe.

Class Dates: July 1-26, 2024

Note: Dates subject to minor changes and exclude travel dates.

 
Additional Meeting Dates

Preparatory meetings prior to travel are required as part of these summer programs. Topics discussed include safety, cultural adaptation, program expectations, flight/logistical arrangements, and scholarship opportunities. Mark your calendar for the following mandatory meetings:
  1. Friday, March 29, 9 AM-12 PM
  2. Friday, April 19, 1-4 PM
  3. Friday, August 30, 1-5 PM (Re-entry meeting)
 
Subjects Students complete a total of six transfer credits while abroad:
  1. MAN4000X Leadership and Competitiveness in the 21st Century
    • This course can substitute for MAN4143 Effective Business Leadership
  2. GEB4000X Innovation, Immigration, and Social Entrepreneurship

10 to 14 UNF undergraduate students who meet the above prerequisites
 
Cost

 

Students pay all costs (excluding six hours of UNF tuition) directly to the University of Alicante, airlines, insurance company, etc. It is estimated that these costs will equal approximately $4,100. 

  • 2,060 Euro (approx. $2,220) University of Alicante fee, which includes
    • all class materials
    • lodging in individual rooms at Student Residence Villa Universitaria (6/30-7/27)
    • full board of 3 meals per day
    • campus tour and welcome reception
    • cultural excursion
    • watersports
    • public transportation card for 30 trips
    • bus field trip
  • International health insurance (approx. $45)
  • Airfare (approx. $1,800)
Additionally, students must pay for six credits of UNF summer tuition and fees.
