Rabat, Morocco

Join our Partner University ESSEC's at their Africa campus in Rabat, Morocco! Located on the Atlantic Ocean coast and the River Bou Regreg, Rabat is home to 1.6 million people. Rabat is the capital of Morocco and is considered one of the safest cities within the country. The beautiful Rabat is home to the Royal Palace (the most important museum in Morocco), the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and many historical tourist attractions. The pleasant weather of Rabat supports the exotic gardens of Rabat- Salé with over 1,500 exotic species and a maze of paths and walkways, receiving thousands of visitors a year. Gain a deeper understanding of the African culture while visiting a city rich in culture and imperial structures.

Additional Meeting Dates

Preparatory meetings prior to travel are required as part of these summer programs. Topics discussed include safety, cultural adaptation, program expectations, flight/logistical arrangements, and scholarship opportunities. Mark your calendar for the following mandatory meetings:
  1. Friday, March 29
  2. Friday, April 12
  3. TBD, September 2024 (Re-entry meeting)
 
Subjects Students complete one five-credit course* over a three-week period:
3/4000 GEB Elective: Entrepreneurship & Innovation in Africa
  • African Geopolitics
  • Doing business in Africa
  • Entrepreneurship and startups in Africa
  • Artificial Intelligence & Innovation
  • Climate Governance

*International Business students who take the optional Arabic language course will earn a total of six credits, which will fulfill Regional Studies

MAN3025 Administrative Management (preferred, but not required)

Participants

Open to a maximum of three UNF undergraduate students who meet the above prerequisites
 
Cost

In 2022, students paid $657 for course fees +single room or $625 for course fees +double room

Room and Board lodging in double or individual rooms with common kitchen & cafeteria on campus
