The Institute of Environmental Research and Education (IERE) is proud to be the academic home and first point of support for our students. We’re committed to helping you thrive—academically, personally, and professionally. 

In Spring 2025, IERE launched two interdisciplinary Bachelor of Science degrees in Environmental Science: 

Environmental Natural Science Environmental Principles & Practice 

These innovative programs were developed by IERE Joint Faculty in collaboration with the Faculty Executive Board and our Community Council, responding directly to student and employer demand. A hallmark of both degrees is the integration of IERE’s student and research programs into the curriculum—giving every student hands-on, real-world experience throughout their academic journey.   

IERE also supports students across campus through the growing Environmental Studies minor, which helps students from all majors connect environmental science and studies with their career goals.
