Your Scholarship. Your Story. Your Thanks.
Show the Difference Their Support Makes
A thoughtful thank you letter is one of the most meaningful ways to recognize the generosity of the donors and community partners who make IERE scholarships possible. Your letter helps donors understand the impact of their support and the difference it is making in your educational journey.
-
Share your story: Introduce yourself, your academic year, major, and any involvement in environmental programs, research, service, or leadership activities. Explain how your scholarship is helping you achieve your goals.
-
Express sincere gratitude: Let donors know what receiving the scholarship means to you and how their support is contributing to your academic and personal growth.
-
Highlight your aspirations: Briefly describe your future plans, career interests, and commitment to environmental stewardship, sustainability, or community impact.
-
Write professionally: Be clear, concise, and genuine. Proofread your letter carefully for spelling and grammar, and ensure your message reflects appreciation and professionalism.
-
Consider a handwritten note: While not required, a handwritten thank you letter can provide a personal touch and make an even greater impact.
