Coggin College Crowley Transportation & Logistics leader draws spotlight

While Dr. Herbert Kotzab arrived at the UNF Coggin College of Business in January, it didn’t take long for his presence to prompt notable media coverage.

The new Director of the Coggin College Crowley Center for Transportation and Logistics and CSX Transportation Eminent Scholar in Transportation and Logistics has already taken part to several journalistic features.

Following the UNF Communications release of his accomplishments sent to media outlets, the Jacksonville Business Journal published a profile on Dr. Kotzab in February.

That was closely followed by a live interview with Dr. Kotzab on the Jacksonville radio talk show First Coast Connect hosted by Melissa Ross on 89.9 FM, WJCT.

Dr. Kotzab explained his background and how the Crowley Center for Transportation and Logistics will evolve in the interview that lasted about 5 minutes. Dr. Kotzab often shared industry anecdotes with Ross. He also explained the elevated nature transportation and logistics has experienced in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic.

“Suddenly, everybody saw the importance of it. Not only of bringing the goods to the people, but also, for example, bringing the vaccination to the people,” Kotzab said on WJCT. You can listen to a recording of the interview by cuing up the time mark to 37:10.

Dr. Kotzab was also interviewed in March by trade journal Inbound Logistics and the publication included his perspectives on the state of the transportation and logistics industry.
