Kara Barber
Assistant Director of Development, Coggin College of Business
Kara Barber is the Assistant Director of Development for the Coggin College of Business.
Kara brings more than a decade of experience to the post. She was formerly with the UNF Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation (CEI) at the Coggin College of Business. She held the CEI position for approximately three years. Her duties as Assistant Director of Development include helping nurture and establish business partnerships with Northeast Florida companies, seeking individual philanthropic support, increasing scholarships and being an ambassador of the Coggin College of Business in the community.
Kara was previously in development for the North Florida American Diabetes Association where she worked with local Jacksonville business leaders to raise close to $500,000 for research, education, and programs. She also worked at the Florida State Golf Association where she grew membership by recruiting over 500 new golfers. In addition to her non-profit work, Kara also ran Orientation and the Student Solutions Center at Jacksonville University.
Kara is an Osprey, earning her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership in 2014 from UNF. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from Florida State University.
