A North Florida native and a University of North Florida Coggin College of Business graduate Chris Kalin has been promoted to Regional President of PNC Bank.
Kalin has nearly two decades of banking experience and received his BBA degree from UNF in 2008. He went on to get his MBA in 2014 from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Kalin was Senior Vice President and Corporate Banking Relations Manager from 2017 to October of this year when he got the promotion. He fills the Regional President role at the PNC Jacksonville office for Brian Bucher who is retiring. Meanwhile, fellow alum Melanie Patz has advanced to CEO and President of United Way of Northeast Florida.
Patz began her position in September as the top executive at the United Way after serving as Vice President of Community Impact and Investment at Baptist Health in Jacksonville from 2014 to 2022. But she had experience with the local United Way organization before, serving as Vice President of Community Impact from 2003 to 2014. Patz earned her MBA from the Coggin College of Business at UNF in 2018. Her Bachelor of Science in Business degree is from Samford University. Patz has extensive involvement in community service on the First Coast including serving on the board of directors for System of Care and the Early Learning Coalition among many other civic activities, a United Way news release said.
