Crowley hosted the inaugural Crowley Innovation Expo April 12 at the Adam W. Herbert University Center at UNF bringing innovators, industry experts and decision-makers together to connect, innovate and engage.

The multi-faceted Innovation Expo also prominently featured Coggin College of Business leaders including Dean Richard Buttimer and Dr. Herbert Kotzab, Director of the Crowley Center for Transportation and Logistics and CSX Transportation Eminent Scholar in Transportation and Logistics. They were joined in discussion by Crowley CEO Tom Crowley and Crowley Chief Strategy Officer Deepak Arora.

The event showcased 27 startup companies from five countries and was attended by approximately 275 people.  Attendees could engage with the startups and see presentations during the event.

Dr. Buttimer said the Crowley Innovation Expo demonstrated the fruits of the partnership between Coggin College and Crowley after establishing the Crowley Center in 2021.

“We’re always at the forefront of contemporary business developments at Coggin College. Those virtues are exemplified in our partnership with Crowley and are accentuated in this event which focuses on some of our most forward-looking industry participants,” Dr. Buttimer said.

As a result of the expo, Crowley officials said they had more than 100 requests to follow up with the startups, which is a testament to the success of the event.
