Work Experience and Summer Programs

Internships and Work Opportunities

The Pre-Law Program is an active member of the Jacksonville and Florida legal communities. All positions and internships posted by or offered through UNF Pre-Law either pay students for work or allow students to earn university credit. Pre-Law students work and intern in private law firms, government agencies, public service agencies, and nonprofit organizations.

Recent Pre-Law students have interned or worked in prominent law firms including Holland & Knight,  Bedell Law, Creed & Gowdy, and more.  Students have also clerked or interned at Jacksonville Area Legal Aid,  Office of the State Attorney, Office of the Public Defender, Jacksonville Office of General Counsel, and numerous other state and local agencies.

Pre-Law students may also intern in Washington, D.C. through the Washington Center or find study abroad opportunities through UNF's International Center.

Summer Programs

Several law schools offer summer programs for students seeking additional law school preparation or immersive legal study opportunities. Some summer programs offer scholarships. Most applications for summer law programs are due December-March. Students interested in applying for summer programs should meet with a Pre-Law advisor.
