Start Strong with Early Admission at UNF

Start senior year with confidence by applying early to the University of North Florida. The freshman application for the 2027–2028 academic year opens July 1. Students who submit an application and all required materials by Sept. 2 will receive an early nonbinding admission decision by Sept. 16.

Why Apply Early?

Applying early gives you a head start and access to exclusive benefits, including:

  • Eligibility to waive the $200 admission deposit when the application and all required materials are received by July 31
  • Priority consideration for scholarships with awards beginning in October
  • Priority financial aid packaging for students who submit the 2027–2028 FAFSA by Oct. 15, once available
  • Early access to apply to the Hicks Honors College
  • Early access to submit an on-campus housing contract
  • Less stress and more time to plan your next steps

What Counts as a Completed Application?

A completed application includes the application itself and all required materials: application fee, a Self-reported Transcript and Academic Record System (STARS) and test scores.

How to Apply to UNF

  1. Complete and submit UNF’s online application (opens July 1) or through CommonApp (opens Aug. 1).
  2. Pay the nonrefundable $30 application fee (if you have an application fee waiver, you can upload it through your applicant portal after submitting your application).
  3. If you are applying before Aug. 1, upload a PDF copy of your high school transcript to your applicant portal, along with any AP, IB, AICE or dual enrollment transcripts. Starting Aug. 1, submit the Self-reported Transcript and Academic Record System (STARS) if 12th-grade coursework is available.
  4. Self-report your SAT and/or ACT scores in the applicant portal, upload a PDF copy of your SAT, ACT or CLT scores through the portal, or send scores directly from College Board using UNF code 5490, ACT using UNF code 0711 or CLT.

Kick off your senior year preparation with free standardized test prep sessions designed for students seeking extra support before test day. Sessions help students prepare for the ACT, SAT and CLT through guided review, test-taking strategies and practice problems focused on math and English.

Visit UNF - Tour Campus & Get Expert Application Assistance

Prospective students are invited to visit campus during the summer for a guided tour and personalized admissions support. During these visits, students can explore UNF’s campus, connect one-on-one with an admissions recruiter and receive assistance submitting application materials by the Sept. 2 deadline.
