The University of North Florida offers several fully online degree and professional certificate programs that are available in a traditional or accelerated-term format. UNF’s award winning programs are designed to provide a high quality learning experience for students who cannot attend classes on campus.

RN-BSN Bridge Track

Undergraduate Program

The RN to BSN Bridge online degree program at the University of North Florida is for those who are already Registered Nurses (RNs) and who desire to further their nursing education and expand their career opportunities by completing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Today’s healthcare arena is increasingly complex with its high-tech focus in the hospital, its shift toward population-based health care management in the community, and the increasing influence of political and economic forces on all phases of healthcare. The broad knowledge base found in a BSN provides the opportunity for RNs to gain the competencies necessary to excel in the current and future healthcare job market.

Doctor of Nursing Practice in Psych-Mental Health

Graduate Program

The Post-MSN Doctor of Nursing Practice with a concentration in Psych-Mental Health (PMHNP) program at the University of North Florida is designed as an online program for those who already possess, at a minimum, a Master of Science in Nursing and are certified as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) who wish to obtain their DNP and become certified as a PMHNP. This program is designed to be offered online with visits on campus once per semester.

Graduate Program

The Doctor of Nursing Practice program at the University of North Florida is designed as a post-graduate degree program for those who already possess, at a minimum, a Master of Science in Nursing and specialty certification. This program is fully online.

Executive Masters in Health Administration

Graduate Program

The EMHA Program is designed for working health care professionals and is offered in a primarily online format. The structured cohort program allows students interested in becoming executive leaders in the healthcare industry to meet their professional demands while completing coursework from any location and at times convenient to each student. Three on-campus sessions are required during the course of the 20 month curriculum of 3 full days (Friday to Sunday).

Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Informatics

Certificate

The 12 credit UNF graduate interprofessional certificate in healthcare informatics was developed by an interdisciplinary faculty group responding to community need identified by focus groups for professionals trained in HIT, community partners and leaders. It is designed for information professionals, clinical personnel and other healthcare personnel who want to increase their knowledge regarding information technology and management of the complex and organization issues which are present in healthcare at the graduate level. The objective of this online certificate program is to expose students to modern health IT, including data acquisition and analysis, systems design, data security and decision processing. The UNF graduate interprofessional certificate in health informatics focuses on electronic medical data generated and stored in healthcare organizations, ITS security and applications.

Nutrition

Doctor of Clinical Nutrition

Graduate Program

The Doctor of Clinical Nutrition degree program will transform nutrition and dietetics practitioners into advanced level clinical scholars who have the skills, attitudes, behaviors, and high standards essential for pursuing, acquiring, and using evidence-based knowledge to make significant contributions to their communities through practice, service, and lifelong learning. Students are required to come onsite for 2-day workshops the first three years of the program and also to defend their research project.

Master of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics (Online)

Graduate Program

The Master of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics degree program is designed for those students who wish to emphasize the application of advanced nutrition knowledge in clinical or community based health programs. This program has four concentrations available online: Professional Studies in Dietetics, Nutritional Sciences, Global Health, and Health Informatics.

Master of Education in Educational Leadership: Educational Technology, Training and Development

Graduate Program

The Educational Technology, Training and Development concentration of the Educational Leadership degree program centers upon preparing professionals to enhance and support the academic and career development of students and adult learners in a variety of settings with the effective application of technology. The online program offers opportunities to explore the nature of teaching and learning with technology, with digital media, telecommunications, and leadership in instructional technology.

Master of Education in Educational Leadership: Early Childhood Educational Leadership

Graduate Program

The M.Ed. with specialization in educational leadership, policy, and advocacy, with an early childhood focus, prepares professionals with an interest in the early childhood field to take leadership roles in organizations that focus on improving the lives of families and children through the collaboration of public policy, community action, and educational support.

Graduate Certificate in Early Childhood

Certificate

The online certificate in Early Childhood Education (ECE) emphasizes the professional preparation of students at the graduate levels for a range of careers in early childhood education (children ages 0-8) within diverse community contexts. The completion of six Early Childhood Education graduate courses provides preparation for working with young children and their families and communities. This program prepares candidates for a highly specialized role and offers a dynamic combination of state-of-the-art theoretical courses and practical application of learning in field education.

Graduate Certificate in TESOL

Certificate

The online certificate in Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) provides students with advanced knowledge in the education of ELLs (English Language Learners) of any age. The completion of six TESOL graduate courses awards a candidate a TESOL certificate from the University of North Florida, and qualifies a candidate to apply for the ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) endorsement to be added to the candidate's existing Florida teacher's certificate. Coursework covers the ESOL domains of linguistics, assessment, culture, methods, and curriculum.

Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Deaf Education

Certificate

The online Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Deaf Education program is designed for professionals (e.g., teachers, paraprofessionals) who are currently working with or aspire to work with DHH students and have not yet completed the Florida Department of Education K-12 Hearing Impairment Professional Certificate. In order to enroll in the program, students must have completed a Bachelor's degree (education degree not required).

ASL & Interpreting

American Sign Language Endorsement

Undergraduate Program

The courses offered for the American Sign Language (ASL) K-12 Educator Endorsement are designed to provide teachers of American Sign Language in the K-12 setting the opportunity to complete the additional courses required by the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) for ASL Endorsement.

Master of Science in American Sign Language/English Interpreting

Graduate Program

The University of North Florida's interpreting programs are committed to upholding the Standards formulated by the Commission on Collegiate Interpreter Education. The two Master’s degree concentrations are offered online with a maximum of one on-campus weekend per semester (General Practitioner concentration) or two, 7-day summer sessions (Interpreting Pedagogy concentration). The programs are developed in accordance with current spoken and signed language research and target interpreters who aspire to become nationally certified, improve their skills in specialized settings, and/or develop skills as interpreter educators. Deaf interpreters are encouraged to apply.

For international students pursuing an F-1/J-1 visa: 

According to U.S. immigration regulations, F-1/J-1 students cannot pursue online degree programs, part-time, or certificate* programs (*Music Certificate is the only exception). Therefore, the University of North Florida is not allowed to issue F-1/J-1 student immigration documents for online, part-time, or certificate* programs. Immigration documents can only be issued for students who are fully admitted to a full-time, on-campus, in-person, degree-seeking program.
