The American Sign Language (ASL) K-12 Educator Endorsement courses are designed to provide K-12 teachers of American Sign Language the opportunity to complete the additional courses required by the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) for ASL Endorsement.

Health Administration, BHA

 

The Bachelor of Health Administration provides students with the entry-level skills needed by health administrators and management professionals. This degree is designed to prepare graduates for entry-level administrative positions in hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, mental health organizations, insurance companies, public agencies and many other types of healthcare organizations. It also serves to help enhance careers of students already working in the health services industry.

The Master of Science in Logistics and Supply Chain Management is one of only two in the state of Florida. The Blendflex degree program is part of Coggin College of Business’s Transportation and Logistics Flagship Program. Students enhance their skills to keep pace with rapidly advancing technology and business practices in logistics and supply chain management, as well as prepare for career advancement and leadership opportunities.

Blendflex is a course delivery method in which students select their attendance modality on a class to class basis.

Clinical Nutrition, DCN

The Doctor of Clinical Nutrition transforms nutrition and dietetics practitioners into advanced level clinical scholars who have the skills, attitudes, behaviors, and high standards essential for pursuing, acquiring, and using evidence-based knowledge to make significant contributions to their communities through practice, service, and lifelong learning. Students are required to come onsite for 2-day workshops the first three years of the program and to defend their research project.

Executive Health Administration, EMHA

 

The Executive Masters in Health Administration is designed for working healthcare professionals. The cohort program allows students interested in becoming executive leaders in the healthcare industry to meet their professional demands while completing coursework from any location and at times convenient to each student. Three on-campus sessions, scheduled as three full days (Friday to Sunday), are required during the 20-month curriculum.

The Master’s in Nursing Education prepares nurses with the teaching and research skills necessary to effectively lead students, clinical staff, and patients in various settings. The curriculum integrates core graduate level concepts such as patient safety and research with advanced clinical concepts and evidence‐based pedagogy to prepare nurses for roles in education within the community, college settings or healthcare agencies. The Master’s in Nursing Leadership prepares nurses to successfully manage and lead healthcare services across a variety of settings. The degree incorporates evidence-based knowledge into practice to improve healthcare outcomes in response to emerging trends and issues in practice and healthcare. The curriculum builds on leadership, evaluation, and organizational management methods to improve healthcare delivery in today’s complex care settings. The Doctor of Nursing Practice is designed as a post-graduate degree for those who already possess, at a minimum, a Master of Science in Nursing and specialty certification. This practice-focused degree program is for advanced practice registered nurses (APRN) in the following roles: Nurse Exec. (NE-BC); Nurse Exec. Advanced (NEA-BC); Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM); Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS); Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA); Nurse Practitioners (CNP).

Deaf Education, Post-Bacc Certification

The Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Deaf Education is designed for professionals (e.g., teachers, paraprofessionals) who are currently working with or aspire to work with DHH students and have not yet completed the Florida Department of Education K-12 Hearing Impairment Professional Certificate. In order to enroll in the program, students must have completed a Bachelor's degree (education degree not required).

The graduate certificate in Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) provides students with advanced knowledge in the education of ELLs (English Language Learners) of any age. The completion of six TESOL graduate courses awards a candidate a TESOL certificate and qualifies a candidate to apply for the ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) endorsement to be added to the candidate's existing Florida teacher's certificate. Coursework covers the ESOL domains of linguistics, assessment, culture, methods, and curriculum.

The graduate certificate in Global Health is interdisciplinary and relies on a broad knowledge base to create innovative solutions to challenging health problems in resource poor settings. The program aims to improve understanding of topics related to emerging global health issues such as sustainability of food and water resources, disease transmission and management, epidemics, and healthcare delivery in compromised settings.
