Online Program Delivery Defined

Online Degree Programs

Courses are delivered entirely online, either synchronously or asynchronously. Additional program requirements, such as projects, community-based experiences, internships, residency, etc., can be completed off-campus.

Primarily Online Degree Programs

Between 80% and 99% of all courses are available online, either synchronously or asynchronously. Some program courses require students to meet on campus or at another location at specific times.

Hybrid Degree Programs

Between 50% and 79% of all courses are available online, either synchronously or asynchronously. The remainder of the courses require on-campus meetings.

Online at the Upper-Level Undergraduate Degree Programs

Upper-level courses are available online, either synchronously or asynchronously. Additional program requirements, such as projects, community-based experiences, internships, etc., can be completed off-campus.

Online Course Delivery Defined

Fully Online Course

100% of the direct instruction of the course is delivered using some form of technology when the student and instructor are separated by time, space, or both. All special course components (exams, internships, practica, clinicals, labs, etc.) that cannot be completed online can be completed off-campus.

Primarily Online Course

80-99% of the direct instruction of the course is delivered using some form of technology when the student and instructor are separated by time, space, or both. There is a requirement for the student to attend campus or another explicit geographic location for a portion of the course.

Hybrid Course

50-79% of the direct instruction of the course is delivered using some form of technology when the student and instructor are separated by time, space, or both. There is a requirement for the student to attend campus or another explicit geographic location for a portion of the course.

Live Online Course

Coursework is delivered completely online with regularly scheduled meeting times via web conferencing that comprise 50% or more of the direct instruction.

Blendflex Course

Students choose how they attend each class individually, selecting the modality that best fits their needs. They may participate in classroom sessions in person, join online synchronously, or access course materials asynchronously. Blendflex courses offer maximum flexibility, allowing students to adapt their attendance throughout the term based on their personal schedules and preferences.
