Eligibility

  • Spouse/Dependent/Domestic Partner of full-time support employees, full-time A&P employees, and faculty members who have been employed at UNF for at least six months and are in good standing academically are eligible to participate. The Tuition Scholarship program is available to undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Florida Residency requirements must be met to be eligible. Resident Aliens and Non-Florida Residents must pay the out-of-state portion of their tuition.
  • This program is not available to OPS, part time, or temporary personnel.
  • Employees must complete the Tuition Scholarship Request online by the date listed on the above table.

How to submit a Tuition Scholarship Employee Request online

  • Access the Tuition Scholarship Program - Employee Request through Employee Services in Administrative Apps. Use the drop-down tool to select the term and the student who named you through the Parent Portal.
  • The student's current registration will populate on the form for "ranking." Ranking allows students to choose which courses they want covered by the waiver in the event that they are registering for more courses then their waiver covers. Ranking is required for all registered courses, but the waiver is only applied to the total amount of hours covered by the policy. Please note that waitlisted courses will not populate until the student is fully registered for the course.
  • Click "submit" after ranking the current coursework. You will see a "Your ranking has been successfully submitted" message as confirmation. Please note that an error message will appear if you attempt to apply the same numerical ranking to more than one course. You will need to supply a new rank to complete the submission.
  • You can return to this form to adjust your rankings any time before the waiver submission deadline. The deadline is consistently set for the end of the Add/Drop period.
  • If for any reason a student is not eligible for a waiver for the term you select, you will not be permitted to pull up registration for ranking. Instead you will receive an error message which will explain the loss of eligibility.

Admission

The spouse/dependent/domestic partner must meet current admissions criteria and application deadlines. Participating dependents can be either degree or non-degree seeking students. For application information contact One-Stop Student Services or visit the Admissions webpage.

  • Spouse/Dependents/Domestic Partner of full-time support employees, full-time A&P employees, and faculty of UNF may register for up to three hours of tuition-free courses with some restrictions. See the Tuition Scholarship for Spouse/Dependents Policy for more details.
  • Up to six hours per semester (for dependent children) can be waived if two parents meet employment requirements at UNF.
  • The Tuition Scholarship Program Waiver is included in "Estimated Financial Aid" on the student's bill. It will post along with any other pending aid and the student can assume that any remaining balance should be paid.
  • Failure to submit your form by the deadline will result in you being fee liable for all courses in which you have registered.

Continued Participation

  • Continued participation requires individuals to remain in good standing academically, as defined by the undergraduate student UNF policy and the graduate student UNF Policy.
  • Designations such as withdraw (W) or incomplete (I) will not satisfy the requirements for continued participation and will result in the employee’s loss of eligibility to participate in the program for the subsequent semester.

All employees are encouraged to read the complete policy for the Employee Educational Assistance Program.
