Course Instructional Methods

How to Identify Instructional Methods

Using the UNF Registration System, identify the instructional method for each class:

  • Upon logging in to the UNF Registration System, use the Browse Classes feature or look at your current registration.
  • Click on the class link under the Title column to pull up the Class Details window.
  • Look for "Instructional Method" on the Class Details tab.

Note:

You can also use the Advanced Search feature under "Browse Classes" to search for classes by individual "Instructional Methods."

Class schedules can also be searched by Instructional Method using the myWings Course Schedule by Instructional Method search.

Registration class details pop-out is shown. The Instructional Method is labeled Standard and is highlighted yellow.

Less than 50% of direct instruction is online, including activities that do not occur in a classroom (i.e. exams, internships, practica, clinicals, labs, etc.).

100% of direct instruction is delivered online. There are no required on-campus meetings. All course components (i.e. exams, internships, practica, clinicals, labs, etc.) that cannot be completed online can be completed off-campus.
Live Online (LO)

Course is delivered completely online with regularly scheduled meeting times via web conferencing that comprise 50% or more of the direct instruction.

*Blendflex requires a classroom assignment with appropriate technology

Students can attend class sessions in the physical classroom or online, either synchronously or asynchronously, and can select attendance modality on a class-to-class basis.

Definitions

  • Synchronous
    • Classes are scheduled for students to learn in real time (specific days and times), either in-person or using technology.
  • Asynchronous
    • Classes are scheduled for students to learn with no real time interaction. Students will have specific deadlines to meet during the term.
