Apostille

An Apostille is an internationally recognized process to authenticate legal documents adopted by the Hague Convention in 1961. Some countries may request a legal document such as a transcript or diploma have an Apostille Seal. The University of North Florida is not authorized to grant an Apostille Seal. This authentication may be obtained only through the Florida Secretary of State Office. UNF can, however, assist by providing notarized copies of transcripts and/or diplomas for students seeking an Apostille Seal.

Students or alumni requiring an Apostille Seal for their UNF transcripts or diplomas must submit the Apostille Request form to One-Stop Student Services. Students should not submit their original documents with the request, but should use the Apostille Request form to request new copies. Official transcripts are $10 each, and official diplomas are $10 each. Payment is due at the time the request is submitted. Processing time for Apostille requests can take 10-15 business days (additional time may be required for mailing). Outstanding holds on a student's account may prevent the release of academic records.

Once notarized, the document(s) will be available for pick up at One-Stop Student Services (by appointment only) with valid photo ID, or will be mailed to the home address provided on the Apostille Request form. Information on the next step in the process can be found at the Florida Secretary of State Office Website: http://notaries.dos.state.fl.us/notproc7.html.

To submit a request for a notarized transcript and/or diploma, please submit the Apostille Request form to One-Stop Student Services. You may do so in person (by appointment only) in Ann and David Hicks Hall, Building 53, Suite 1700, or by mail: UNF, Attention: Registrar's Office, 1 UNF Drive, Jacksonville, FL 32224.  To make an appointment to pick up your Apostille documents in person, please email the commencement staff at commencement@unf.edu.
