Apostille Diplomas & Transcripts
What is an Apostille Request
An Apostille is an internationally recognized process to authenticate legal documents adopted by the Hague Convention in 1961. Some countries may request a legal document such as a transcript or diploma have an Apostille Seal. If you are traveling overseas or sending documents for use in a foreign country, you may be required to have the documents certified by the Florida Department of State; Division of Corporations.
The University of North Florida is not authorized to grant an Apostille Seal. Apostille authentication of UNF transcripts and diplomas can only be obtained through the Florida Secretary of State. However, UNF can provide notarized copies of transcripts and diplomas to help students and alumni complete the Apostille process.
The Process
Step 1: Complete an Apostille Request
Important:
- Do not submit original transcripts or diplomas; use the request form to order new official copies.
- Payment (check or money order only) is required when the request is submitted.
- Only the student themselves may initiate an Apostille Request.
- To avoid delays, the legal name on your form must match the legal name that UNF has on file. Preferred names and nicknames may cause processing issues. Need to update your legal name? Submit a Personal Information Update first.
