Take Back The Night
October is Domestic Violence Awareness month. According to the Department of Justice, Office on Violence Against Women, “domestic violence is a pattern of abusive behavior in any relationship that is used by one partner to gain or maintain power and control over another intimate partner.”
The Dean of Students Office at the University of North Florida hosts programming to raise awareness of these types of behaviors to our students. Domestic violence can happen to anyone, anywhere. We want our students to stay safe and be aware of the resources available to them should they find themselves in a situation like domestic violence.
Take Back The Night (TBTN) is a worldwide initiative to take a stand against domestic violence and UNF participates in this movement by hosting our own Take Back the Night event.
This year we will Take Back The Night on Tuesday, October 8 2024 beginning at 4pm in Osprey Plaza.
Join us this year in the stand against interpersonal violence and dating/domestic violence.
