Dark Matter Masterclass
UNF Physics hosts the Dark Matter Masterclass on Saturday, March 9, 2024
UNF Physics is organizing a free masterclass on dark matter for students and educators on Saturday, March 9, 2024. Masterclasses are international events which provide an opportunity for high-school students to experience first-hand data analysis. The topic of the masterclass is one of the great unsolved problems in science: what makes up the majority of the matter in our universe?
During the Masterclass, students will learn the evidence that supports this bizarre conclusion that the "normal" matter of everything around us is NOT the most typical matter in our universe, and get a chance to analyze data from current dark matter experiments. Students will get to work alongside experts in the field including Drs. Chris Kelso (UNF) and Pearl Sandick (Utah).
Location
The event will be held in room 1102 of the Sciences & Engineering building (Building 50). Parking is available in the Arena garage near the Science & Engineering building (or Lot 18, if there Arena garage is full; see "Parking" labels on the map at the bottom of this page). Parking permits are not required on Saturday, unless there is a special event and parking changes are posted. Discover more details about parking on campus.
