Program Description

The Bachelor of Science in Sport Management is a 120-credit hour program designed to prepare students for dynamic careers in today’s fast-paced, ever-evolving sport industry. Accredited by the Commission on Sport Management Accreditation (COSMA), the program emphasizes excellence in academic quality and industry relevance.
Students have the option to pursue one of four distinct pathways: Sport Management with minor, Sport Marketing, Sport Analytics or the Accelerated Sport Management (BS) to Educational Leadership - Athletic Administration (MED) pathway.

Sport Management with Minor
Build a broad foundation with the flexibility to customize your degree. This pathway combines strong sport management core with a minor in a complementary field, such as business, leadership or communication. Ideal for students seeking versatility, it’s designed for those pursuing careers in coaching, entrepreneurship, facility management or leadership roles across the sport industry.

Sport Marketing
Shape the story of sport. In this concentration, you'll learn to engage fans, grow sponsorships and build brand loyalty across traditional and digital platforms. Coursework focuses on social media strategy, promotions, sponsorship and sport consumer insights, powered by UNF's strong connections to professional teams, collegiate programs and sport media partners.

Sport Analytics
Dive deep into data-driven decision making and sport performance analysis. The Sport Analytics concentration prepares you to make data-driven decisions that impact team performance, fan engagement and organizational strategy. Develop skills in data visualization, performance metrics and applied analytics, while gaining real-world experience through Jacksonville's thriving sport industry network. Accelerated Sport Management (BS) to Eduational Leadership - Athletic Administration (MED)
Overview
This program allows eligible students to earn a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Sport Management, followed by a Master of Education (MED) in Educational Leadership - Athletic Administration. The combined degree program is 159 credits; 120 for the undergraduate degree and 39 credits for the master's degree. However, up to 6 graduate hours may be counted towards both degrees. Students complete the undergraduate degree first, taking no more than 6 credits of graduate coursework in their senior year, which will then be used to satisfy both degrees.

The sport management degree program at The University of North Florida (UNF) has received specialized accreditation through the Commission on Sport Management Accreditation (COSMA) located in Fort Collins, Colorado, USA. Our Bachelor of Science in Sport Management program is accredited by COSMA.The COSMA Accredited Sport Management program is reflective of the fast-paced and growing sports industry across the country. The program of study provides an academic foundation in sports management for application in a variety of sports settings. Of further significance is that students receive valuable employment training though practicum and internship experiences in chosen settings including: college recreation or athletic programs, community recreation agencies, sport organizations or business, sport facilities, and professional sports teams.

Graduates with a Bachelors of Science in Sport Management are well-prepared for a wide range of careers in both professional and amateur athletics, recreation and sports business. Sport IMPACT JAX offers UNF students hands-on, high-impact learning experiences in public opinion data collection and analysis, survey design and methodology, strategic sport communication, and professional reporting with stakeholder presentations.
