Privacy of Student Records and FERPA
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is a federal law that affords applicants and students certain rights with respect to their educational records. The intent of this law is to protect the privacy of students and their records.
About the Office
After a student has matriculated at UNF, the Office of the Registrar and Student Success Operations becomes a central resource for many of the services needed throughout their academic journey and beyond. We are committed to delivering efficient, accurate, and friendly support to current and former students, faculty, staff, and advisors.
Whether it's a simple question or a complex issue, we take pride in providing our best effort every time. Above all, we prioritize the confidentiality of student records in accordance with federal, state, and university regulations, including the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA).
By aligning expertise across student records, systems, processing, and operations, we aim to foster a responsive, collaborative environment that adapts to evolving student needs. Through strategic use of platforms like Slate for Admissions, Slate for Student Success, Degree Works, and our current and future Student Information Systems (SIS), we will enhance institutional readiness, maximize the impact of our human and technological resources, and lead with innovation and purpose.
