George W. Rainbolt French Study Abroad TLO

Purpose

The purpose of the gift is to provide funding for University of North Florida students to support extended (normally at least one semester) study abroad experiences in French speaking countries.

Selection Criteria

Students eligible for the scholarship awards must:

  1. meet admissions requirements and be accepted to the University of North Florida,
  2. reside in Florida for tuition purposes,
  3. enroll full-time with at least 6 credit hours each semester,
  4. declare a major in French,
  5. maintain a minimum GPA of at least 2.8,
  6. participate in a UNF partner program,
  7. complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA),
  8. demonstrate financial need as defined by the University’s Office of Financial Aid, and
  9. be selected by a committee chosen by the Chair of the Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures.

Students selected for this scholarship award must also agree to:

  1. comply with all University regulations, rules, codes of conduct governing students on campus,
  2. consent to release grades to the Division of University Development and Alumni Engagement for the purpose of reporting to the donor, and
  3. remain in good standing as a student.

 

Preference will be for a student who is eligible to receive Pell Grant funding.
