Goswami Family First Generation Scholarship

Selection Criteria 

  • Meet admissions requirements and be accepted to the University of North Florida
  • Be a Florida resident for tuition purposes
  • Enroll for a minimum of six credit hours per term
  • Have parents or guardians who have not earned their bachelor's degree
  • Demonstrate a recalculated high school GPA, transfer GPA or undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or better
  • Meet any eligibility requirements as established by the University’s Office of Financial Aid
  • Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Demonstrate financial need as defined by the University’s Office of Financial Aid
  • Preference to undergraduates enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.

Recipient Responsibilities 

  • Enroll with at least six credit hours per semester
  • Earn a minimum of 24 credits by the end of each academic year
  • Maintain a GPA of at least 3.0 for their freshman, sophomore, junior and senior years
  • Comply with all University regulations, rules, and codes of conduct governing students on
    campus
  • File the FAFSA form with the federal government each year
  • Demonstrate financial need as defined by the University’s Office of Financial Aid
  • Consent to release grades to the Division of University Development and Alumni
  • Engagement for the purpose of reporting to the Donors
  • Meet with the Donors at least once per year

Renewal Requirements

Current recipients may receive priority consideration for renewal if funding is available and all scholarship requirements continue to be met. Students may receive no more than nine semesters of scholarship support.

Students are automatically considered for this award upon acceptance-no separate application is necessary.
