Part-Time Faculty, Double Bass

Man with white hair and long sleeved white shirt, standing and holding double bass.

Paul Strasshofer (B.M., Indiana University) is part-time instructor of Double Bass at the University of North Florida School of Music and a member of the bass section in the Jacksonville Symphony.  He began his orchestra career by coming to Florida to play in Orlando with the Florida Symphony Orchestra.  He has performed with many orchestras, various groups and other ensembles before landing in Jacksonville.

In addition to an extensive classical music background, Paul enjoys different styles of music and settings in pit orchestras, stage show bands, country clubs, and jazz clubs.

Mr. Strasshofer was Adjunct Professor of Applied Bass, and taught entry level music classes at Valencia Community College and Stetson University.  He spent time developing a String Program at Lake Highland Preparatory school, ran classes for young music students in schools, and coached music privately.  He is currently mentoring with the Golden Isles Youth Orchestra mini camps and sectionals.

Paul would like thank all the teachers and colleagues which have been such an inspiration.
