Media Week 2017

Thanks to all who participated in Media Week 2017, which ran from Oct. 23 to Oct. 27. Media Week 2017 included panel discussions regarding advertising, public relations, journalism, and production. There were also opportunities for students to informally interact with media professionals, such as at the "Meet the Professionals Lunch." There were also alumni events as well as a panel on how to spot and combat fake news.

Monday, October 23

Meet the Mentors Breakfast Panel

9:30- 10:30 a.m.

Bldg. 14D, Room 2001

Mentors from UNF's Department of Communication Professional Advisory Board are invited to talk about their professional expertise and what they can offer in a mentorship.

Keynote Address: The Importance of Advertising and PR in Building Successful Global Brands

The keynote speaker, Tuan Tu,is marketing director at Revlon. He is a strategic, creative, award-winning CPG marketer and business leader with 13 years of top-rated brand management experience in innovating and launching beauty and personal care products. He has experience in building billion-dollar brands as well as specialty beauty brands that consumers love.

The Value of a Master's Degree in the Communication Industry

11 a.m.- Noon

Professionals with master's degrees and UNF faculty discuss the advantages of earning a master's degree to further career goals. There will also be a brief presentation about the Department of Communication's master's degree in communication management.

Professionals will discuss both domestic and global diversity issues as they relate to advertising, journalism, public relations and production, and the things students should know about global and domestic diversity issues that may help them when they enter their respective industry.
