Student Rights

All students and student organizations have the following rights per the Student Code of Conduct: 

  • The right to ask questions at any time; 

  • The right to have an Advisor of their choice present; 

  • The right to confidentiality in accordance with FERPA; and 

  • The right to appeal the outcome of the case 

  • Charged students (Respondents) and Victims have additional rights that are afforded to them which are: 

  • The right to have character statements (Respondents) heard during the sanctioning and deliberation phases. 

  • The right to have a Victim Impact Statement heard during the sanctioning and deliberation phases.  

  • Students also have the rights that are outlined in the Section D of the Student Code of Conduct.
