Welcome to the Office of Interdisciplinary Programs

Why interdisciplinary?

Interdisciplinarity is the combination of two or more disciplines to tackle big, important questions. Interdisciplinary inquiry means employing multiple perspectives and approaches. Students who undertake this type of work develop skills and flexibility that most employers deeply value. Majoring or minoring in an interdisciplinary program is one way to gain a competitive edge for graduate school or the job market. Below is a list of degree programs with majors or minors that can help develop your interdisciplinary credentials, as well as an incomplete list of impressive events and faculty endeavors that demonstrates the impacts of interdisciplinarity within and beyond the College of Arts & Sciences.
