An advisor needs to be a full-time faculty or staff member. No exceptions.
We recommend finding an advisor that can be active and involved with your club. After all, their role is to advise.
Sports and Recreation: Try asking around the Wellness Complex.
Academics: Try the office of the respective department.
Non-Academic: Try some of the non-academic departments (ex:LGBT Resource Center).
Yes, dues are acceptable - but closed groups cannot receive funding for operational expense ( things that only the club will use).
Student Government Funding comes from the A&S Fee, which is paid by students. Because of that, the thing that will be funded must be accessible to students in general (Especially students that cannot afford to pay dues).
Yes, anytime that your leadership changes, you must:
Be sure that the treasurer passes along any financial documents, and that someone is attending monthly meetings.
You can access funding as soon as your club’s president and
treasurer pass the SG Funding Quiz on Canvas. Passing means scoring an 80%
Keep in mind that your club has to be in good standing first –
meaning that you must have registered with a good constitution and roster, and advisor, president, and treasurer listed in Perch Portal.
New Clubs must also attend two consecutive meetings to be funding eligible.
You can fill out a Travel Request Form and make an appointment to speak with the Student Government Budget &
Allocations Chair (B&A Chair) to go over what is necessary for this
request. Your completed form must be submitted to the SG Rotunda (Student Union East, Room 3300) no later than five weeks before your intended departure date.
Any printed items purchased using Student Government funding must state, "Funded by UNF Student Government". Only the Club Accounting Associate may initiate printed material orders when using SG funding.
Reservations are not handled through Osprey Involvement Center.
To make a reservation for the Student Union, fill out the SU Reservations form online.
To make a classroom reservation, fill out Enrollment Services' Reservation form online.

Yes, any publication, flyer, announcement, invitation,
t-shirt or notice of an event funded by Student Government must bear the statement
“Funded by UNF Student Government”.
If your items are using the UNF logo or distorting the logo
in any way, it has to be approved by the UNF Marketing and Publications Department.
Committee Meetings are the only meetings that are always mandatory. Osprey Involvement Center will
update your club if any other meetings or events are made mandatory. Anything that takes place during the summer is not mandatory, even Committee Meetings.
Clubs will be pardoned for missing one mandatory meeting a
If a club misses two or more meetings a semester, they will
be frozen for attendance. Please see the RSO Handbook for more information
on frozen status.
If a club is unable to attend a meeting, the club must
schedule its own meeting with OIC Leadership to review the information that will
be, or was covered in the meeting. This will count as attendance for the
meeting that the club was unable to attend.
You can have the absence excused, as long as appropriate and
documented reasoning is presented to the OIC Director, Assistant Director, or OIC Advisor before, or within five days of the missed meeting.
Appropriate reasoning means that all possible RSO
representatives were ill, on travel associated with the organization, engaged
in compensated work/internships, or had a class conflict.
Submit the Suspension Appeals Form to the Club Commons to get started.
It is recommended that the club President, Treasurer, and Advisor attend these meetings, but only one representative from an RSO need to be present.
