Professional Licensure and Certification Information
Professional Licensure or Certification Information provides important disclosures about professional licensure and certification outside of Florida to current and prospective students.
Select professions (e.g. teachers, social workers, physical therapists, etc.) require licensure or certification beyond a degree in order to hold a position in that field. Professional licensure regulations and requirements vary by profession and state. In compliance with the U.S. Department of Education Federal Guidelines, this information is provided for programs leading to licensure and/or certification required for entry into an occupation.
If your career plans include pursuing state-regulated licensure or certification in your chosen field, it is important to become educated on the requirements of the state in which you plan to seek employment.
UNF continuously monitors the extent to which our programs meet the educational requirements for licensing in U.S. states and territories and updates this page regularly. In some instances, the University has not made a determination whether or not a program meets educational eligibility requirements in a particular state. In all cases, students are strongly encouraged to contact their respective state licensing boards to verify specific licensing requirements and to consult program directors with questions. Contact information for associated state licensing boards is provided at the bottom of this page.
In addition to reviewing this information and program webpages, students should consult applicable state licensing boards to determine whether any additional requirements such as background checks, examinations, supervised training, or professional experience must be completed to obtain the license, certification, or approval for which the program is designed to provide educational preparation.
Under § 668.14(b)(32), UNF may only enroll students if they are located in a state where the program meets all educational requirements for the intended credential, or if they attest that they intend to seek employment in such a state.
