Lu Ann and Doran Weinstein Memorial Scholarship in Visual Arts
The Lu Ann and Doran Weinstein Memorial Scholarship in Visual Arts supports aspiring visual artists who demonstrate both financial need and a commitment to academic success. This scholarship was established to honor the legacy of Lu Ann and Doran Weinstein and to empower students who are passionate about pursuing careers in the visual arts.
Eligibility Requirements:
To be considered for this scholarship, applicants must:
- Meet University of North Florida admission requirements
- Express a desire to major or minor in art history, photography, or studio art with a concentration in ceramics, painting, drawing and printmaking, sculpture, or other visual arts disciplines
- Have a minimum recalculated UNF GPA of 2.5 or a minimum cumulative UNF GPA of 2.5
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and demonstrate financial need as determined by UNF’s Office of Financial Aid
Scholarship Conditions:
Recipients must:
- Enroll in at least 9 credit hours per semester
- Earn a minimum of 18 credits by the end of each academic year
- Maintain a UNF GPA of 2.5 or higher
- File the FAFSA annually
- Remain in good standing with the University and comply with all regulations, rules, and codes of conduct
- Consent to release academic records to the Division of Institutional Advancement for donor reporting
Scholarship Renewal:
- Current recipients may reapply for renewal each year and will be given preference if they continue to meet all scholarship requirements and funding is available
- Students may receive support for up to 8 semesters
Study Abroad Support:
Recipients may apply for a one-time study abroad award, subject to funding availability and compliance with all scholarship terms. Eligibility for this support includes:
- Completion of at least two academic years with a minimum 2.5 GPA (second-year summer or post-third year)
- Adherence to all University policies and procedures related to study abroad programs
- Students are responsible for all program costs not covered by the award
Award Amount:
- Determined annually by the scholarship fund manager
- Total scholarship support cannot exceed the maximum cost of attendance, including tuition, books, campus housing, meal plans, transportation, and miscellaneous expenses as defined by the Financial Aid Office
- Funding is provided through a combination of financial aid sources in compliance with Federal Title IV regulations and Weinstein Scholarship funds

Tay Wood Cooper Ceramics Annual Scholarship
The Tay Wood Cooper Ceramics Annual Scholarship supports aspiring artists within the Department of Art, Art History and Design at the University of North Florida. Created to encourage and empower students concentrating in Ceramics, this scholarship helps talented individuals pursue both educational and professional aspirations in the arts.
Eligible recipients must meet UNF admission requirements, reside in Florida for tuition purposes, and be enrolled full-time (minimum 12 credit hours each in the fall and spring semesters). Students must also declare a major in Art, Art History, and Design with a concentration in Ceramics and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5. Selection is made by the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences based on recommendations from a faculty committee.
In addition to academic eligibility, recipients must comply with university regulations, agree to share academic progress with the Division of University Development and Alumni Engagement, and remain in good standing. Preference for renewal is given to current recipients who continue to meet all requirements and as funding permits. Students may receive this scholarship for up to eight semesters, not exceeding the full annual “Cost of Education” as determined by UNF’s Financial Aid Office.
This scholarship is administered by the UNF Foundation and welcomes additional contributions in support of future ceramic artists. Your support fosters creativity, commitment, and excellence in the next generation of ceramicists.

Diane DeMell Jacobsen, Ph.D. American Art History Scholarship
The Diane DeMell Jacobsen, Ph.D. American Art History Scholarship supports outstanding undergraduate students pursuing a degree in Art History at the University of North Florida. Established by Dr. Diane DeMell Jacobsen, this scholarship is awarded to juniors or seniors who demonstrate academic excellence and a focused interest in American Art.
Eligible students must be Florida residents for tuition purposes, maintain full-time enrollment (12+ credit hours in both Fall and Spring semesters), hold a minimum UNF GPA of 3.0, and have completed or be enrolled in at least one of the following courses: American Art 1, American Art 2, Postwar Art, or African American Art. Recipients are selected by a committee appointed by the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences.
Awardees must continue to meet academic and behavioral standards, maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and consent to the release of academic information for donor reporting purposes. The scholarship is renewable for up to four semesters, provided all eligibility criteria continue to be met.
Administered by the UNF Foundation, this scholarship reflects Dr. Jacobsen’s dedication to the advancement of American Art scholarship and the success of students in the field.

Dr. Mauricio Gonzalez Endowed Scholarship
The Dr. Mauricio Gonzalez Endowed Scholarship provides vital need-based financial support to students pursuing a degree in Art and Design within the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of North Florida. Created to empower talented creatives with financial need, this scholarship supports both First Time In College (FTIC) and transfer students who are Florida residents and committed to full-time enrollment beginning in the fall semester.
To be considered, applicants must complete the FAFSA, demonstrate financial need as determined by UNF’s Office of Financial Aid, and be accepted to the university with a declared major in Art and Design. Scholarship recipients are selected by a committee appointed by the provost.
Awardees are expected to maintain full-time enrollment (minimum 12 credit hours in fall and spring), earn at least 24 credit hours each academic year, uphold a GPA of 2.5 or higher during junior and senior years, and remain in good academic and disciplinary standing. Recipients must also consent to release academic records to the Division of Development and Alumni Engagement and file a FAFSA each year.
The scholarship is renewable for up to four semesters, pending continued eligibility and availability of funds. Award amounts are determined by the fund manager and may cover tuition, books, housing, meals, transportation, and other educational expenses, not exceeding the university’s published “Cost of Education” budget.

Dr. Peter Scott Brown Art History Scholarship Endowment
The Dr. Peter Scott Brown Art History Scholarship Endowment supports outstanding students pursuing a degree in Art & Design at the University of North Florida, with a preference for those majoring in Art History. This scholarship recognizes academic excellence and encourages dedicated students to deepen their engagement with the visual arts and humanities.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must meet admission requirements and be accepted to the University of North Florida
- Must reside in Florida for tuition purposes
- Must maintain a minimum UNF GPA of 3.0
- Must declare a major in Art & Design, with preference given to students pursuing Art History
Student Responsibilities:
- Enroll in a minimum of 9 credit hours each Fall and Spring semester
- Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0

Lazzara Family Endowed Scholarship in Sculpture
The Lazzara Family Endowed Scholarship in Sculpture supports outstanding undergraduate students who are pursuing a concentration in Sculpture within the Department of Art, Art History and Design at the University of North Florida.
To be eligible, applicants must meet UNF admissions requirements, enroll full-time as an undergraduate student in the College of Arts and Sciences with a declared major in Art, Art History & Design (Sculpture concentration), and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.75. Recipients must complete at least 12 credit hours in both the Fall and Spring semesters or follow their required program of study.
In addition to academic qualifications, scholarship recipients are expected to:
• Maintain full-time enrollment and complete a minimum of 24 credits per academic year
• Uphold a minimum GPA of 2.75
• Abide by all University rules, regulations, and student conduct codes
• Consent to the release of academic information for donor reporting purposes
• Remain in good academic and disciplinary standingThe scholarship may be awarded for up to two semesters, with award amounts determined by the fund manager. Awards may cover costs up to the full "Cost of Education" as defined by UNF’s Financial Aid Office, including tuition, fees, books, housing, meals, transportation, and miscellaneous expenses.

Hope McMath Leadership in the Arts Scholarship Fund
The Hope McMath Leadership in the Arts Scholarship Fund supports students who demonstrate academic excellence and commitment to museum studies and leadership within the visual arts. Named in honor of Hope McMath—renowned arts advocate, educator, and former museum director—this scholarship aims to empower future leaders in the arts who are passionate about making a meaningful impact through curation, education, and community engagement.
To be considered, applicants must:
- Meet UNF admissions requirements and be accepted to the university
- Hold a minimum UNF GPA of 3.0
- Declare a major in art, fine arts, or art history
- Have completed at least one Art & Design course focused on museum studies
Recipient Responsibilities:
Scholarship recipients must:- Enroll in at least 9 credit hours per semester and complete a minimum of 18 credit hours per academic year
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0
- Remain in good standing with the university and follow all student conduct policies
- Consent to the release of academic information for donor reporting purposes
Award Details and Opportunities for Renewal:
The amount awarded is determined by the fund manager and may not exceed the total cost of attendance (as defined by the UNF Financial Aid Office). Scholarships are renewable for up to four semesters, contingent on continued eligibility and availability of funding.Additionally, if funds allow students in good standing may apply for one-time support for a study abroad program or an Internship in Visual Arts course related to museum studies.

Jan and Bruce Lipsky Photography Scholarship
The Jan and Bruce Lipsky Photography Scholarship supports outstanding junior and senior Photography majors at the University of North Florida who demonstrate both talent and financial need. Established by Jan and Bruce Lipsky, this scholarship reflects their commitment to nurturing the next generation of visual storytellers.
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be admitted to UNF and classified as a Florida resident for tuition purposes
- Be enrolled full-time (12+ credit hours) in both the Fall and Spring semesters
- Be a junior or senior majoring in Photography
- Maintain a minimum of 2.5 GPA
- Demonstrate financial need by completing the FAFSA
- Be selected by a committee appointed by the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences
Scholarship recipients must also comply with all university regulations, remain in good academic standing, consent to release academic records for donor reporting, and submit the FAFSA annually.
This scholarship may be renewed based on continued eligibility and available funding, with a maximum of five semesters of support (including summer). Awards may cover up to the full cost of attendance, including tuition, fees, books, housing, meals, transportation, and personal expenses, as determined by the Financial Aid Office.

John Hutcheson Memorial Printmaking Scholarship Endowment
The John Hutcheson Memorial Printmaking Scholarship Endowment honors the legacy of John Hutcheson by supporting talented students pursuing a major in Printmaking at the University of North Florida. This merit-based scholarship is awarded to Florida residents who have been accepted to UNF, declared a major in Printmaking, and achieved a minimum recalculated GPA of 3.0.

Paul E. Ladnier Endowed Scholarship Fund

Award Amount and Renewal:
The award amount varies based on available funds and cannot exceed the full cost of attendance, including tuition, fees, books, housing, meals, transportation, and other educational expenses as determined by the Financial Aid Office.Current recipients may reapply for the scholarship each year. Scholarships are renewable if students continue to meet all eligibility and responsibility criteria. No student may receive more than nine semesters of support from this scholarship.

The George W. Rainbolt Art and Design Scholarship
The donor has determined that eligible students must:
• meet admission requirements and be accepted by the University of North Florida,
• reside in Florida for tuition purposes,
• enroll full-time with at least 12 credit hours in fall and spring semesters,
• complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA),
• demonstrate financial need as defined by the University’s Office of Financial Aid,
• the student must be majoring within the Department of Art, Art History & Design, and
• maintain a GPA of at least 2.8.
The preference will be for a student who is eligible to receive Pell Grant funding. The award winner will be selected by the Chair of the Department of Art, Art History, and Design who will consult with the faculty as needed. -
The Steinsieck Scholarship
The following criteria will be used to establish the scholarship:
The Donor has determined that eligible students must:
- meet admissions requirements and be accepted to the University of North Florida
- be accepted in the College of Arts and Sciences at the junior or senior level
- reside in Florida for tuition purposes
- earn a minimum GPA of at least 3.5
- declare a major in Visual Arts
Students awarded this scholarship must also agree to:
- enroll full-time (12 credit hours) each semester and earn a minimum of 24 credits by the end of each academic year
- maintain a GPA of at least 3.5
- comply with all University regulations, rules and codes of conduct governing students on campus
- consent to release grades to the Division of Institutional Advancement for the purpose of reporting to the Donor
- Remain in good standing as a student
No student will be eligible to receive more than one annual award of scholarship support.
