Commencement
oneColumn

Checklist

  1. Review and verify completion of all degree requirements with your advisor.
  2. If you have completed courses at other institutions, One-Stop Student Services (904) 620-5555, must receive official transcripts by the date of commencement. If you were enrolled at another institution while concurrently enrolled at UNF, a Concurrent Enrollment form must be on file with One-Stop Student Services.
  3. Apply for graduation by the date advertised in Osprey Update and the Academic Calendar (see below for steps on how to apply for graduation online). If you are applying after the deadline, please see your academic advisor to complete a paper Graduation Application. Failure to apply for graduation on time may result in your receiving a reduced number of commencement tickets, affect your ability to graduate that term and can result in a delay in receiving your diploma.
  4. Verify your mailing addresses on file to ensure the receipt of time-sensitive degree information and your diploma. Check the Personal Information tab in Banner Self Service within myWings to view the information on file with the university. Address changes can be made in person at One-Stop Student Services. Diplomas will be mailed to graduates on the date noted on the Academic Calendar.
  5. Verify your e-mail address is current, as emergency notifications will be sent to the e-mail address on file. Check the Personal Information tab in Banner Self Service within myWings to view the information on file with the university.
  6. Clear your academic record. Previous incomplete or non-reported grades must be converted to satisfactory letter grades before you can graduate. Incomplete or non-reported grades received in your final term will prevent you from graduating. Contact One-Stop Student Services for guidance: (904) 620-5555.
  7. Satisfy all financial obligations (fines, tickets, fees, etc.). Outstanding debt will delay release of your diploma and/or any official transcript.
  8. If you have an RL hold (Loan Exit Counseling) on your record, make sure to complete an online exit interview. For additional help, contact One-Stop at (904) 620-5555. Failure to complete this requirement will delay the release of your academic records.
  9. Visit Career Services for help writing your resumé and to consult other career-related materials.
  10. Order your academic regalia by the deadline at the University Bookstore, (904) 620-2665. Graduation announcements and college rings are also available.
  11. Consider joining the UNF Alumni Association.
  12. Refer to the commencement website for answers to all of your questions about commencement, including where and when to arrive to check in and line up for the processional. Check back periodically for updates and announcements.
