Human Research Protections

At the University of North Florida, we are committed to protecting the rights and welfare of human subjects who participate in research and assisting the UNF community in ensuring compliance with the Common Rule regulations established by the US Department of Health and Human Services. Under our agreement with this federal agency (Federal Wide Assurance #00000737), all research projects involving human subjects must be submitted for Institutional Review Board (IRB) review. IRB approval for these projects must be granted prior to the initiation of any study activities, including recruitment or analysis of existing data.
