Research at UNF

The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs has adopted Cayuse, a cloud-based solution that will track externally sponsored proposal and award activity, provide for streamlined internal routing and approval of proposals, facilitate submission to sponsor systems, and store proposal and award information. With Cayuse, you can review and confirm the proposal is ready for submission, as well as review information at the award stage. Cayuse Fund Manager allows principal investigators to track and project expenditures, view year-to-date balances, and create award and proposal reports. Cayuse System-to-System (S2S) eliminates the need to use agency specific portals for submitting federal proposals. S2S is a complimentary system for proposals using for agencies such as NSF, NIH, USDA, and the Department of Education.

Cayuse Human Ethics: Effective March 1, 2024

The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs will adopt Cayuse Human Ethics. Cayuse Human Ethics is an electronic protocol management platform that is cloud-based, user-friendly, and secure. All human subjects research studies, as well as modifications, renewals, and incidents are required to be submitted using Cayuse Human Ethics.  Additionally, Human Subjects Determinations for Quality Improvement Projects (QIP) are to also be submitted to the IRB for review using Cayuse.

Enjoy increased efficiency with 100% electronic preparation, submission, and routing of human research study protocols. It has never been easier for administrators, researchers, and committee members to collaborate. Cayuse Human Ethics documents the protocol processes from initial submission to closure.

Access to Cayuse Human Ethics

The Cayuse platform uses single sign-on and can be accessed using your myWings portal. Each investigator will need to have a Cayuse account before they can be added to a study submission. If you try to log in and get an error message, or if you know that you do not have a Cayuse account, complete the Request Access to Cayuse form.

All graduate (Master’s and Doctoral) students who plan to conduct research as a Principal Investigator, Co-Investigator, Primary Contact, or as a member of the study team may request access to Cayuse by completing the Request Access to Cayuse form. The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs Research will create your account. Access to the Cayuse Human Ethics system will be available within two business days. An email confirmation will be sent to you from when access is granted. For questions regarding access to Cayuse Human Ethics, contact the ORSP Research Integrity team at (904) 620-2455 or email
