What is Virtual Lab?
Virtual Lab leverages a number of cutting edge technologies to provide UNF students access to Windows based software applications from any computing device--laptops, tablets, desktops, and smartphones--from any location, at any time. This project is a pilot project funded in part by the Student Technology Fee.

Who can access Virtual Lab?
UNF students, faculty and staff may access software in the Virtual Lab.

What applications are available in Virtual Lab?
- Minitab 16
- SPSS version 22
- SAS Version 9.4

Can I access Virtual Lab on a Macintosh computer?
Virtual Lab will run on Mac computers.

Can I print in Virtual Lab?
It is possible to print to a printer that is installed locally to your computer.

How do I get started using Virtual Lab on a desktop ot laptop computer?
- If you are using a desktop or laptop, go to vlab.unf.edu and log in with your UNF ID and password.
- Click the box next to "I agree with the Citrix license agreement" and then the big green Install button.
- Install the Citrix Receiver software.
- When you see "Installation completed successfully" – click "OK".
- You are now able to access the Virtual Lab software.

How do I get started using Virtual Lab on a mobile device?
Go to the app store used for your device (i.e. App Store, Google Play) and search for “Citrix Receiver”.
- Install the Citrix Receiver app.
- Open the Citrix Receiver app and choose “New Account”. Type in vlab.unf.edu as the Address.
- Type in your UNF ID and password. Type unfcsd in the Domain field.
- Select “Add Your Favorite App” to select the apps you want to use.

How can I request that an application be added to Virtual Lab?
Email helpdesk@unf.edu with any suggestions or feedback you have. Put “Virtual Lab” in the subject of the email. This will help us improve the service for other students.

What should I do if Virtual Lab is not working in Internet Explorer?
If Virtual Lab is not working in Internet Explorer 11, make sure that 'Compatibility Mode' has been enabled.

What do I do if I see a security warning?
Click permit all access.

How long is logout?
15 minutes. If you get logged out (timed out). Go back to Virtual Lab and log back in. Make sure to logout rather just closing the browser.

Why isn't SPSS opening in Virtual Lab?
SPSS cannot open Excel in Virtual Lab. This is because Excel is not in installed in Virtual Lab. Virtual Lab cannot convert your Excel files to the proper format.

When I use a computer in the Thomas G. Carpenter Library and open an application that is available in the Virtual Lab, am I using the Virtual Lab?
The applications that are available in the Virtual Lab are also available as installed applications on the Thomas G. Carpenter Library computers. Students who want to use the installed applications should go to the Start button and open the application just like they would do if the program was installed on their laptop or home computer. If a student wants to access Virtual Lab, they can select "Virtual Lab Application."

If I use Internet Explorer 11 and have problems and I don't see the login box, is there something I can do?
Yes, with Internet Explorer be sure to use Compatibility Mode. If it is enable, it will look like a page torn in half on the right side of the wen browser's address bar. To enable Compatibility Mode, Setting>Compatibility>View Settings>Add site.
