The field of data analytics is rapidly evolving alongside the massive amount of data churned out from the increasing number of devices connected to the internet. Yet, on average, a whopping 60% to 73% of all data within an enterprise goes unused.

Businesses look to data analysts not only for their technical abilities to pull data and make sense of it, but to communicate effectively and tell a story that can inspire, influence, and drive business decisions — from the movie recommendations in your Netflix queue to the groceries you buy online from Amazon’s Whole Foods Market.

The University of North Florida’s Data Analytics Bootcamp offers a robust curriculum that can put you in the driver’s seat of your data career. We ensure that you not only gain all of the technical and analytical skillsneeded to excel in the field but also develop the strategic mindset that will push companies to adopt your analysis and grow their business.

You’ll learn key analytics and visualization tools like Excel, SQL, Python, Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, and more while also completing 20+ hands-on mini-projects designed to reinforce your learning through tangible outcomes. To help you pack a powerful punch to your portfolio, you’ll work on a Capstone project, bringing all of the skills you learned to the forefront in a centerpiece presentation that you can use to showcase prospective employers.

You’ll also get 1:1 weekly support from mentors working in the field of data analytics, a student advisor who can keep you accountable, and access to career units that will cover how to conduct a thorough job search with access to 1:1 coaching.

View a preview of the data analytics course below and what types of careers you can excel in after you complete the course.

  • What does a data analyst do?

Data analysts make sense of data and numbers with a variety of tools at their disposal, including SQL, Python, and PowerBI. Their goal is to help businesses make better decisions and drive toward innovation, growth, and operational efficiency.

They are responsible for mining data, cleaning data, and analyzing and interpreting data to spot trends and identify areas of opportunity and improvement for any number of business problems.

  • What skills are needed to work in data analytics?

Data analysts are deep critical thinkers with a penchant for investigative work. They mix curiosity and creativity with logical and rational thought processes.

They must also be able to read and interpret statistical data, understand linear algebra and calculus, data visualization, and have a familiarity with programming languages like Python and working with databases like SQL.

Most importantly, data analysts must be excellent communicators in order to translate their key findings into powerful presentations.
