Communication Science & Disorders (CSD) Post-Baccalaureate Certificate
**This certificate program is currently undergoing approval.**
The Communication Science and Disorders (CSD) Post-Baccalaureate Certificate provides non-degree seeking graduate students who already possess a BA or BS, the coursework needed to pursue a Speech and Language Pathology Assistant or Audiology Assistant license through Florida’s Department of Health.
The CSD post-baccalaureate program consists of 21 credit hours and includes a clinical experience course. Please note that FLDOE requires an additional 6 credits related to human growth and development and psychology, which may or may not have been satisfied during student’s undergraduate program. Transcripts will be required upon application for the licensure. The CSD post-baccalaureate certificate will also assist students who are planning to pursue a master's degree in CSD through an American Speech–Language–Hearing Association approved program. However, prerequisite requirements vary per institution and CSD Master’s program.
Please check with the institution where you plan to apply for a master's degree in CSD to determine which prerequisite courses you must satisfy prior to applying to their program. Currently UNF does not offer all of the prerequisites needed to enroll in an ASHA approved CSD Master’s program.
Students must earn a "C" grade or higher and an overall 2.5 GPA.
