Spring 2024: Elections Timeline

Monday, January 8th: First Day of Classes 


Wednesday, January 17th- Wednesday, January 24th: Elections Tabling

UNF Elections will be tabling during Market Days; Wednesdays from 10 AM - 2 PM.


Thursday, January 18th: Elections 101 Workshop 

UNF Elections will be hosting a meeting to discuss and answer questions about the Spring 2024 Student Government elections, at 12:00 PM. 

Located in the John E. Sapp conference room, on the third floor of the Student Union Building 58 East, Room 3204.


Tuesday, January 23rd: Political Party Declaration of Intent Due at 5 PM

Forms can be found at the Student Government Rotunda in the Student Union Building, 58E/3300.

Completed forms are due by 5 PM in the Student Government Rotunda, located in Student Union Building 58 East, Room 3300.


Wednesday, January 31st: Candidate Declaration of Intent Window Opens

Forms can be found at the Student Government Rotunda in the Student Union Building, 58E/3300.

Completed forms are due October 3rd at 5 PM in the Student Government Rotunda, located in Student Union Building 58 East, Room 3300.


Wednesday, January 31st: Elections Fair 10 AM - 2 PM

Students and candidates are encouraged to attend and meet the different political parties running in the upcoming election. Party chairs must contact the Supervisor of Elections to discuss setup.

Candidates are permitted to put up their campaign signage. Please review the campus signage map (located in the Candidate Campaign Packet) to ensure you are following the proper policies and procedures.

The Elections Fair will take place at the Student Union's Market Wednesdays Tabling event.


 

Wednesday, February 7th - Wednesday, February 14th: Elections Tabling

Tuesday, February 13th: Presidential/VP and Senate Candidate Declaration of Intent Due at 5 PM

Forms can be found at the Student Government Rotunda in the Student Union Building, 58E/3300.

Completed forms are due by 5 PM in the Student Government Rotunda, located in Student Union Building 58 East, Room 3300.


Monday, February 19th: Mandatory Candidacy Meeting at 4 PM - 5 PM

Each candidate is required to attend at least one of these meetings or will be disqualified from running.

Located in the Senate Chambers, on the third floor of the Student Union Building 58 East, Room 3200.


Thursday, February 22nd: Mandatory Candidacy Meeting at 4 PM - 5 PM

Each candidate is required to attend at least one of these meetings or will be disqualified from running.

Wednesday, February 28th: Presidential/VP and Senate Candidate Meet and Greet Forum @ Market Days

UNF Elections will be hosting a candidate forum during Market Days from 10 AM - 2 PM. 

The candidate forum will take place in the Student Union plaza to give students the opportunity to meet with candidates running and speak about their issues and concerns.

Party chairs/candidates must contact the Supervisor of Elections to discuss setup.


 

Wednesday, March 6th: Elections Tabling 

UNF Elections will be tabling during Market Days; Wednesdays from 10 AM - 2 PM


 

Tuesday, March 12th- Wednesday, March 13th: Elections at 9 AM

The Student Government Election begins on Tuesday, March 12th from 9 AM - 3 PM, and will reopen Wednesday, March 13th from 9 AM - 3 PM. 


Wednesday, March 13th: Unofficial Election Results Released 


Thursday, March 14th: Candidate Financial Reports Due at 5 PM

Candidate Financial Statements are due by 5 pm in the Student Government Rotunda in the Student Union Building 58E/3300. All expenses must be declared. Refer to title VI, Elections: Policies and Procedures for more details. 


Thursday, March 14th: Judicial Complaints and Signage Removed by 5 PM

Any A&S fee-paying student may file a judicial complaint regarding the election. Judicial complaints must be filed by 5 pm on March 14th, 2024, and submitted to the Student Government Rotunda in the Student Union Building 58E/3300, with the exception of the Supervisor of Elections.

Campaigns are responsible for removing all campaign-related materials by 5 pm.


Monday, March 18th- Sunday March 24th: Spring Break 


Friday, March 29th: Validation of Election Results at 10 AM - 2 PM

A Senate meeting to validate the results of the election will take place in the Student Government Senate Chambers, located in the Student Union Building 58 East, Room 3200.


Friday, April; 12th: Installation of Election Results at 1 PM

A Senate meeting to install the results of the election will take place in the Student Government Senate Chambers, located in the Student Union Building 58 East, Room 3200.

How to Run in Elections

Step 1:

Go to the Student Government Rotunda located in the Student Union Building 58E/3300 to pick up any required forms. 

Step 2:

Return the completed forms to the Student Government Rotunda located in the Student Union Building 58E/3300 before any relative deadlines found in the Timeline.
