Neal Dresner Brings Functional Beverage Innovation to Market with Sublime Brews

Neal Dresner is redefining the functional beverage space with Sublime Brews, an organic matcha citrus beverage brand designed to deliver both performance and taste - without compromise. Offered as a concentrate in a biodegradable pouch, Sublime Brews (doing business as Rocka Matcha) was created to address a clear gap in the market: a product that seamlessly blends clean ingredients, functional benefits, and a premium flavor experience. Neal’s vision was to provide consumers with a beverage solution that eliminates the trade-offs often associated with health-focused drinks.

With a professional background spanning construction and finance, Neal leveraged a unique combination of operational and analytical expertise to bring Sublime Brews to life. His construction experience enabled the successful buildout of the company’s production facility, while his financial acumen - further strengthened through his MBA from the University of North Florida - provided a strong foundation in cost modeling, forecasting, and pricing strategy. This dual capability has allowed Neal to strategically position the brand for scalability and long-term growth.

The journey to launch was not without challenges. Neal navigated significant supply chain and production hurdles, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. Securing a co-packer willing to accommodate an all-natural product with lower minimum order quantities proved difficult in a constrained market environment. Additionally, building a compliant packaging facility required successfully obtaining certifications from key regulatory bodies, including the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, United States Department of Agriculture, and the State of Florida. Sourcing organic ingredients internationally during a period marked by economic volatility and tariff pressures further added to the complexity of operations.

To strengthen its go-to-market strategy, Sublime Brews partnered with the Florida SBDC at University of North Florida. Through this collaboration, Neal and his team have engaged in comprehensive evaluations of their marketing and brand positioning. Working closely with consultant Emilie Griffin, the business is developing a targeted local marketing strategy to support initial market entry and brand awareness.

“The SBDC has been a great resource,” Neal shared. “They are excellent listeners, quick to understand our business, and provide actionable recommendations. I would highly recommend them to any business owner, regardless of stage.”

Sublime Brews’ core strength lies in its balanced approach, combining strong financial and analytical discipline with a deep understanding of branding, customer engagement, and market positioning. This integrated capability enables the company to make data-driven decisions while maintaining a compelling brand identity.

Community engagement has also played a meaningful role in the company’s growth trajectory. Neal’s involvement with the Riverside Arts Market has been instrumental in building local connections and securing opportunities to showcase Sublime Brews directly to consumers. This grassroots exposure has supported early brand validation and market traction.

As Sublime Brews continues to scale, Neal remains focused on executing a strategic market entry, strengthening brand awareness, and expanding distribution channels. With a strong operational foundation and the support of strategic partners, the company is well-positioned to capitalize on growing consumer demand for clean, functional beverages.

Neal’s journey highlights the importance of adaptability, strategic planning, and leveraging the right partnerships. His approach reflects a forward-thinking mindset - one that balances innovation with execution to deliver a product that meets evolving consumer expectations.
