UNF Faculty and Staff Parking
Thank you for being apart of the UNF family! As a family member you have the opportunity of purchasing a permit prior to the student permit sales date. Permit sale dates can be viewed through Osprey Update for Faculty and Staff and below on this web page. Purchase your permit as soon as it goes on sale because the more desirable permits, such as Faculty/Staff, tend to sell out quickly. Other permit categories such as Blue, Gray and Motorcycle will continue to be available to faculty and staff.
Permit Details
-
Parking and Transportation Services has shifted from physical permit/passes to virtual permits, where you register your vehicle's license plate to be the virtual permit. This system not only requires you to register your license plate, but it also requires you to park your vehicle "nose-in". For example, if a space is empty in front of the original selected parking space--do not pull forward and make sure the license plate is visible. This supports our enforcement recognition cameras to quickly scan the tags for valid permits.
-
Enforcement activity is Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. No permit is required from 5 p.m. Friday through 7 a.m. Monday unless there is a special event on campus. To verify special events, Master Calendar.
If visiting the University Center for a special event or class, no permit is required to park in Lot 16 (located in front of the center).
-
Currently, to purchase a permit, please contact Parking Services (904) 620-2815, parking@unf.edu.
-
The preferred payment method is by using the 24-payment payroll deduction. This is a pre-tax deduction and allows for any changes to the account, such as upgrades and permit returns, to be much easier. Or you may pay with a one-time deduction or pay the full amount owed with a MasterCard, VISA, American Express or Discover credit card. All transactions must be completed online.
If you are currently on the payroll deduction and your permit has been renewed, this process will not change. If you wish to change your permit payment method, please contact Parking Services (904) 620-2815, parking@unf.edu.
-
Please click on Permit Info to verify valid parking locations with purchased permits.
-
Annual permits are valid:
-
August 16 (or date of purchase) - August 15 (next year)
Term permits are valid:
-
(Fall) August 16 - December 31
-
(Spring) January 1 - May 6
-
(Summer) May 7 - August 15
Parking with an expired virtual permit will result in a citation.
-
Thanks to the virtual permit program, you may now register up to 5 vehicles to your purchased permit through your parking account via myWings portal, however, you may only have one vehicle on campus at a time.
If you own both a 4-wheel vehicle and a motorcycle (both cannot be parked on campus simultaneously), it is in your best interest to purchase a 4-wheel vehicle permit and have both the vehicle and the motorcycle registered to the same permit. The vehicle must park within the valid parking lots designated to the purchased permit, and the motorcycle may park within any designated motorcycle spaces stationed throughout campus.
-
If you are a 9-month faculty or staff employee using the 24-payment plan, please complete the Stop Payroll/Refund Request form located on the Staff tab, Employee Online forms section with the myWings portal. This also applies to any employee, for whatever reason, no longer wishes to park in University garages and lots.
If you terminate employment with the University or other circumstances result in you no longer requiring a UNF parking permit, you may be eligible for a prorated refund based on timeliness of the request. If you selected the regular pay deduction method to pay for your parking permit, notify Parking and Transportation Services, (904) 620-2815 or email parking@unf.edu and deductions will cease following your next pay. If you do not notify Parking and Transportation services regarding terminating employment with the University, the remaining amount owed towards your virtual permit to cover the annual price will be deducted from your final disbursement. In addition, if Parking and Transportation Services is not contacted upon termination and the final pay does not cover the amount owed, the remaining amount owed will be immediately due and payable in full. No refund is available after termination.
-
The less expensive permit category, Gray Lot annual or term may be the best value to you. Or you will need to purchase a $5 visitor permit from either the flowbird app or Pay-by-Plate kiosks located in designated Blue Lots or a $2 visitor permit from Pay-by-Plate kiosks located in designated Gray Lots. A $2 visitor permit allows parking only in the Gray Lots such as 14, 18, 53 and 60. (Take the Osprey Connector shuttle to campus)
The $5 visitor permit will allow you to park in the Blue Lots designated with Blue lot signs and on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floor of the garages. This permit will not allow parking in orange-lined Faculty/Staff spaces, numbered spaces marked Reserved or spaces marked Restricted, or in Lots 7, 10, 11, 12, 15, 16 and 17. For Pay-by-Plate kiosk locations and designated Blue and Gray Lot spaces, please click on the map link.

Please visit Parking & Transportation Services (Building 52) to receive a maximum of 30 days allotment transferred to your virtual permit (registered license plate) prior to parking. The treating physician must request this service in written format. Another option, you can call (904) 620-5718 ahead to schedule a pick up time and place from our exclusive shuttle (The Osprey Transit) designed for riders with mobility needs.

There are Loading Zone spaces throughout campus that allow for timed parking with a UNF virtual permit. These vary in time allowed depending on their location. Most are 20 minute zones; just make sure to pay attention to the signs indicating these spaces.
-
If you have a visitor or colleague visiting campus, inform them to purchase a $5 visitor permit from either the free mobile phone flowbird app or one of the stationed Pay-by-Plate kiosks. Also, please inform them that they will need to enter their license plate information into the kiosks as well as park their vehicle "nose in" so their license plate is visible to our tag recognition cameras. No visitor permit is required on weekends, unless there is a special event happening.
You can also make advance arrangements for a guest, if your department is paying for the permit.
To do so, please:
- log into your myWings, click on Staff tab,
- go to My Applications section,
- click on Employee Online Forms, click on the drop down box for Department and select Parking and Transportation Services.
- click on the Visitor Parking Validations link and follow the rest of the prompts.
- Please communicate the code to the visitor as well as inform the visitor they must either enter the code through the flowbird app or at a Pay-by-Plate kiosk prior to parking.
