Get Ready for "Feathering the Nest!"

August 11 - 15

Feathering the Nest is a new initiative hosted by the President’s Office to celebrate UNF’s dedicated staff and faculty. Designed to spark excitement and appreciation, this week of spirit activities aims to help energize the campus community as we gear up for the upcoming academic year.

  • Monday, August 11 | Swoop Spirit Showdown Winners Announced - MOVED to Aug. 14

    A campus video competition will be held to see which UNF department has the best swoop! The deadline for the Swoop Showdown Video contest was 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 6. The winners will be announced on Thursday, August 14 during the 12:00 pep rally. We will follow up with communication to the campus after the pep rally, so everyone can view all the outstanding entries. The winners and runners up will be shown at the pep rally. 

  • Tuesday, August 12 | Group Photo and Cookout
    • Start arriving at the amphitheater at 10:45 a.m. to pick up your exclusive True North t-shirt, slip it over your shirt and join fellow faculty and staff in spelling out “U-N-F” for a drone photo in the J.B. Coxwell Amphitheater.
    • Participants must arrive no later than 11:10 a.m. to be in the photo.
    • Bring water with you to stay hydrated while you are lining up to form the letters. 
    • A cookout immediately follows in the Student Union Plaza!
  • Wednesday, August 13 | Osprey Paws & Play

    11:30 AM – 1:30 PM - Take a few moments out of your busy day, stop by John A. Delaney Student Union (Bldg. 58 East, First Floor) to love on some pups from Campus Canines or challenge your colleagues and learn a new game in the UNF Game Room — or do both!

  • Thursday, August 14 | Pep Rally with the President and Karaoke
    12:00 pm - 1:30 pm -  Student Union, Bldg. 58 West (3rd Floor Ballrooms)
    Let's Go!!! Enjoy a spirited pep rally with your fellow colleagues followed by karaoke and snow cones.
  • Friday, August 15 | Spirit Day!
    We'll be seeing blue! Show your Osprey pride by wearing your UNF colors.
