New Student Orientation and Parent and Family Orientation - Currently we are still planning to host our New Student Orientation and Parent and Family Orientation programs as scheduled. First year students planning to attend UNF are still encouraged to sign up for New Student Orientation as a means of confirming their attendance. If we have to make any changes to hosting the events, we will work with students and their families to reschedule their Orientation sessions at that time.

If you have questions or concerns please contact the Office of Parent and Family Orientation at Our staff has transitioned to work remotely in response to COVID-19, but we are actively responding to emails.

Parent and Family Orientation

First, we would like to say how proud we are your student has chosen the University of North Florida to further their education! On behalf of the UNF family, we welcome your student and look forward to meeting their unique needs.

New Student Orientation is an exciting and busy time as you assist your student in preparing to be an Osprey. At UNF, we feel our students' parents and families play a vital role in their college success.

During the Parent and Family Orientation program you will learn about UNF and the many programs available to your student. This is a great opportunity for you to see the many programs that enhance student intellectual, social, physical and emotional development. We hope it will be a fun time for you as well.

Our faculty, staff, and student leaders welcome the opportunity to meet and discuss with you all aspects of your student’s enrollment. Please do not leave the orientation program without having your questions answered!

Parent and Family Orientation will run congruently during the time that your student is participating in New Student Orientation. Students and families will have the opportunity to be together during the major and career presentations; however, the rest of the time is dedicated to helping you connect with UNF campus programs.

It is MANDATORY that students attend all of the functions of the orientation program. It is not mandatory that parents/family members attend, but we do highly encourage you to sign up to gain valuable insight of your student's future at UNF.
